Lightbulb BMW 328 MilleMiglia - Spider (nov. 02)

hi,
my next car for nfs 4 is a bmw 328 mille miglia spider, munich design (1940).
135 hp @ 5775 rpm,
1979 ccm displacement,
200 km/h max.
Current status: 70%; bug-fixing car.fce, beginning building up a dashboard.
here some screenshots (ingame):

Secondly, I've been working on a new designed homepage which will feature more screenshots and better overviewability.
that's why i didn't update Psychedelics Klassiker , i'll re-name it into Motorsport-Klassiker, i think this does better hit the core than some strange "PychedelicRock" - stuff...
E-mail me for suggestions concerning the redesigning homepage or the 328 spider.

greetings,

Excellent, lovely shape man!

I can't help but think that the car looks a bit big though - or the driver a bit small. I had the impression that the BMW 328 was not really very big, but I could be wrong, or this could be a large-body variation.

I found some Adler Trumpf material by the way, I'll mail you soon about that.

Exclamation

well, i said i'll keep on working on the bmw's car.fce, that means that i'm currently building up a completely NEW driver. i don't like this one.
by the way, the dimensions of the spider are OK, it will be about the same size as my superleggera coupé (not too big); i myself had to draw the blueprints (there's nothing out there).
hey, i encounter some heavy problems while sound - editing!
i can modify ocareng, scareng and careng. bnk , engine afterwards sounds perfect, but then , when playing the sound-modified car as competers, the game crashes.
does that prob. refer to those weird .ltb and .ctb files in car.viv?

cu

ps @remko: thanks for research... i thought you didn't get my mail or somth like that.. are you sure you found some stuff of its tundes engine-version (leMans - version)??
thanks very much

About your sound problems: maybe it helps if you set your NFS4 audio settings from 3D EAX to stereo? I'm saying that because some other cars with edited sound effects make the game crash for some soundcars (including mine)

Yeah, sorry for not replying been very busy this week. Hmm, I don't know if there's much performance info in that story, I'll look again.

For those that don't know this car, here's a photo of the real 328 mille miglia: http://www.xs4all.nl/~classic2/BMW8.html

PsychedelicRock: Nice. Very Nice.

I am working on with racing track that will have some pre war atmosphere.

Any hope that you could some day build some old Tatras for NFS?

I think they aren't generally known well as they should be...

It is just plain sad that F. Porsche was under nazi government while design VW Beetle and at least 1930's car enthuastics know where Beetle in fact really came from. (Of course, I am pretty sure that Porsche was strickly doing as told basis.)

IMO, it would be time to give some respect to designers of Tatra T-97. which is 90 % identical (technically there is even less changes.) to VW Beetle presented 3 years later. (supringly, T-97 production ceased after the Tatra Works were occupied by Nazi Germany in October 1938.)

http://www.tatraworld.nl/1.t_97.htm

anyways, another one of Tatras streamliners from 30's would be T-77 from 1934 / 1935. yeah, I know, it's ugly as hell, but it was one of the fastest touring cars back then.

Hi,
get the 328 mm spider at Motorsport-Klassiker (former psychedelics klassiker).

@nappe:
hei, no problem with building some "ugly tatra - streamliners".... you must know: i love those experimental, mostly exotic pre-war cars. tatra is good, but not too fast. i think tatra's fastback streamliner (t77 i think) is an interesting vehicle, but definetifely too slow for nfs4.
i even had to give up standard-bmw 328 project, because 80 hp and 150 kmH max doesn't seem to bring you at first position in race... but if you had a request? i'd be interesded, for sure.

i worry that there's no pre-war racing track, i miss them, and since i'd like to continue nfs4 car developing until december 2003. i thought whether it would be possible to create a special pre-war mod, now that jokinenDesign is working on pre war cars, too...

what do you think?
