NFS film coming?

From IGN, it seems that there is talk of EA creating a film based on the Need for Speed franchise. Sounds like they see the Fast and Furious franchise doing well and want a piece of the action.

So do you think the story from The Run would be a template for the film or not?

Maybe there will be a "racerplanet.com" billboard in the background, heheh. I hope it isn't a FNF clone though, that could be tricky.

Yeah I'd be curious as to what type of plot they'd use. NFS hasn't been known for it's great stories. The Run is the closest we've had to a story telling experience, and it was just ok.

I guess there are a couple of routes they could take. You have your illegal street racing scene, like FNF, or you might also get into something on the pro circuilt, perhaps along the lines of Days of Thunder, or Driven. not sure what approach they will take, but I still find the whole idea interesting. I'd love to see a pro car with "racerplanet" as a sponsor sticker, heheh.
