The first Patch is out (Bug-Fixes)

Synetic released the first Bug-Fix Patch, and it seems to work fine, it fixed both problems that I had.

Got it installed it! Thx FEZ! BTW anyone know why in cockpit view wheel doesn't turn? I don't use this view,as i love the hood cam! But I was just wondering if anyone else had this.

This is mentioned in the Readme.
It says that you need a DirectX 8 compatible videocard for the hands to move (and some other things to be visible). This has nothing to do with the installed Version of DirectX on your system, only the capabilities of the videocard itself.
