Just wondering after looking at all the stuff out there on SCGT ...
it seems to have the potential.
What do you guys here reckon ... would it be worth doing an Aussie Mod for it?
I mean Australian tracks like Bathurst, Phillip Island, Oran Park, Wanneroo, Albert Park etc etc, plus fun ones like a drag strip.
Have V8 Supercars and other latest and older muscle cars - whatevers avaliable that appeals to the development team
I havent got the game yet (shall have by late tonight) so I dont know how far it can be taken but some of you guys would.
Whatchya reckon? A full on mod worthwhile??
Y2k
I'd be up for it, but how hard is it to make tracks for the game>?

SCGT can be so easily modded, the tracks are easy to modify, once you decompress the MAS file, you have a whole heap of 3d files (i forget the extension. its been so long!) but you can import them all into zmodeller and export them out into individual files as they were imported. the user interface is also simple to modify, im posting a CD of all my unfinished converts/cars to dave in about a week.
pretty easy to learn to.. sounds like a good project, id love to help but i dont have the time at the moment due to car issues & the summernats coming up
Wat about Historical mod? I mean the tracks then coud go faster and the cars and maybe the season when Peter Brock won Bathurst?

SCGT tracks are similar in editing terms to F12002 (of course) and RACER. While considerably easier than nfs tracks, its still not for the feint of heart <aka wooses> and you'll have to be prepared to try things (ie not rely on tutorials that lead you by the hand all the way). there are tutorials out there which will help you on specific stuff but it'll still be up to you.
i believe the format is VRML (or at least can be converted from that). Getting tracks into scgt requires that the game be patched or you have to put the track into the scene.mas (you have to decompress the file and then add the track and recompress it, kinda like v8challenge's main.dat)
The season PB won bathurst.....! ...since it wasn't a season, it was a career of bathurst wins (9 seasons).....&(
Dave, i just re-used the TCcar exe file that i already had (which yours was probably based on).

yes, its worth trawling around to find it, as apocalyse said it makes it easier, as you dont have to put it in the scene.mas (this patch as mentioned) fixes it so you dont have to do that.
if you havent' found it by saturday, you can try and catch up with me to send it to ya.
