Does anybody know how to get NFSPU working under Window XP? I have so much problems running the game. Is there a patch or something outthere I can download? Please help if you know anything or have any solution about running NFSPU under Xp. Thanx.

Hi Ramen, I run PU under XP and apart from some connection problems. bouncing pings, the odd crash to desktop, and laggy displays it works wonderful!! (No it really is a brilliant game)
Have you tried setting the properties for the main NFS game file to 98/ME compatible mode - worked for me, there are some other things to set like page file size and graphic card settings but I am not techie enough to advise you exactly what to do.
I am sure some of the others here will help you out.
Hope you get it fixed and you get to enjoy the true fun of racing online.
Best wishes

Right mouse click on the icon which starts the game up and select properties you should then see a tab called compatability, click on it and that is where you set the compatability mode you want.
Good luck

oH Thanx. But the problem is still not fixed.
Whenever I click on the exe file to start the game, the porsche picture would pop put on the middle of the screen, and I would hear my cd rom running fast, but it just stay there..after 2 mins or so i would get a error msg saying "The driver is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive F: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed." ..
I have the disc in there running and its not scratched or damaged in anyway. So yeah..do u know whats going on here?

Ramen, oh I am sorry you are having a problem still.
I am out of my depth here but it does sound like your CDRom drive may be incompatible with the games copy protection.
I notice you say drive F: did you install from this drive?
Please can someone else with more knowledge try and help Ramen.

Check This thread (http://www.racerplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1016) and follow MATT's advices for virtual memory settings. It's the "most popular" reason for XP problems...:)
Do you have an original CD? Be aware that home-made copies of PU don't work, it's copy protected.

Well done Corrado, I do so hope Ramen manages to get his PU working for him.
Are you back on racing now Tox? I look forward to continuing "our" points battle and having some more of those good clean races with you.
Best wishes

Sue, yes I'm back online and last saturday night I had a great time on Auvergne back with Boris (DC_Fog), L.Q., Silicon, swifty.., and (memory fails...) I think also XR_Bolt (or Bug?). Later on also with [NO]Head and [NO]Lada.
Great time and great racers. They "pulled me" enough to set a top 50 time with all cars on Auvergne/back...:D They had to wait sometimes...:")
I would race tonight but I fear the yearly meeting with the house administrator will last until late... it usually ends at 1:00am :(
Hope to meet you soon online, if you don't bring your "kickboxing" friend that you host in the avatar...:D Watch out for pit names with "Tox" in it.
