in the garage and then in car setup there are settings for tire pressure, etc. and i dont want to fool with them because i will probably mess up my car more :( can anyone tell me how to make the settings so my car will go faster/handle better?
:help:

i lose almost every online race =[

Try taking a look at some of the team web sites, there are some really good tips on driving and setups to use on many of them.

Ours is www.team-xr.com and there is also some links to others there too.

Best wishes

Install all the fastest hop-up parts, but don't do engine upgrades, like putting a 2.0 liter engine into 1.7 liter 914. It's better just to use the car that includes the better engine in stock form.

Always use the slicks (even at Autobahn and Alps).

Suspension height: Normally all the way left.

Suspension travel: Normally all the way right.

Suspension stiffness: Normally all the way right.

Toe in - Right is front toe out, left is front toe in. However what this really does is adjust the front / rear grip bias from each cars default setting. Set the slider to the right for more oversteer, left for less oversteer. Set to far right for most cars, far left for some of the rear wheel drive cars, like the 1973 Carerra RS 2.7 Coupe (it will be obvious when driving which cars are too tail happy).

Downforce - Front downforce doesn't do anything except slow a car down. Rear downforce keeps a car from going airborne, but doesn't improve grip or corner speed, so only use enough to keep the car under control (most tracks have bumps and jumps). Even though grip isn't helped, using 70% to 80% on the faster cars helps keep them stable.

Tire pressure - In NFSPU, higher pressure means better grip, so start with rear/front equal to 45/45. Reduce pressure at the rear if you want more oversteer, for example, reduce it to 42 to 43psi for the 1995 911 turbo. The GT1 can go as low as 40psi at the rear. Reducing the rear tire pressure will result in a car with some lift throttle oversteer, which allows a car to enter corners a bit faster and then scrub off speed while still turning.

Race car gears: NFSPU has a bug that if a race cars highest gear and final gear adjustments are set to the max negative value, aerodynamic drag is reduced, and the car goes faster, although this means it can't use it's tallest gear.

Here are some suggested gearing values:

Lastly, here's a savefile with all 84 cars with the setups I used:
