It is now impossible for me to play the GTR mod. There is horrible lag between controller inputs and the response from the cars. It makes the game completely unplayable. I drove around Laguna Seca in 2nd gear and couldn't stay on the track :(

Oh well, I can concentrate more on GPL now I suppose.

Was it something else that has been installed?

Try uninstalling it and re-installing it.

I got that when I first installed F1 2002... it seemed to be caused by having the screen resolution or graphic options too high or something. The car turned on screen about 1 second after I turned the wheel... completely undrivable :(

I reduced the resolution and turned down some of the graphic things and the wheel started behaving itself and being in perfect sync... :)
Dunno if that's the solution for your situation though - I don't know why it would suddenly do that unless you've changed the graphic options recently :p

I also had that problem when first installed F1, changing the graphics resolution in the config.exe helped me, but at some tracks with some cars (espescially unofficial cars), I have lag sometimes when starting up after pausing the game, I fix it with ESC to garage then start driving again (I mostly race TEST-DAYS ;-)
But, yesterday I finished building a new game-pc with ATI 9700 Pro Atlantis, so I guess framerates will not be a big problem in GTR anymore :D

Hope you fix it soon too Dave, best luck mate!

Greetings, :Peace:

I have tried everything to fix the problem with no luck. I have turned down all the graphics selections which had worked without problems before.

The only thing I had done was install the new 44.03 nVidia drivers, but as they caused some stuttering in GPL I had changed back to the 43.35 drivers. It worked perfectly with the 43.45 drivers before though

Anyway, I will just have to accept that I can't play it - at least for now :(

Hi Dave, all ;) Dave, when you switched back to the older DET's could there have been any leftover files from the newer ones? I'm using the 44.03's and GTR runs much better now, although it sure hasn't helped my racing skills!^_^ Sorry to hear the newer ones buggered up GPL for ya. Good luck with whatever you're racing!

weird things happen over there to your PC Dave

wasn`t it the same thing as you couldn`t play PU anymore????
if you have the time....try to give your PC a fresh & clean re-installed Win....only if you have the time:D:D (btw: I`m about to do the same thing for my PC, had some virus infections...)

I'm not going to worry about GTR for now. I have way too much stuff on my poor old puter to consider a reformat  I am been procrastinating for weeks about backing some stuff up and really should do it before it is too late :)

I was going so well with my GTR Rank too :(

Man, I'm sorry to hear that, Dave. Sorry I haven't been dropping by this forum lately. :why: No play, no stay. I guess. Originally posted by D_Man

:D I have been backing up in readiness for a format for about 6 months now. Possibly longer.

As soon as I clear-up 1Gig I end up downloading heaps of "vital" crap I "simply must have".
Jennie said a few months ago that I shouldn't bother buying blank CDs any more and just keep buying Hard Disc Drives.
There's no hope for me. :rolleyez: heh

I know what you mean Rob :) As soon as I free up some room I end up in a download frenzy
