I just went racing GTR2002 again today..

yesterday, I did a few laps, and got my stock 360 Modena time on Sepang to a "slow" 2:11.272.. had a 1.572 split time faster than the 2:11, just by braking late into 1st corner, and carrying the speed thru.. of course, I got cocky, thinking I could take other corners faster and do a 2:08.. so I crashed.

Anyway,
you know the 1st checkpoint marker? Where Chris said aim for 225-230km/h
I also hit that speed all the time..
EXCEPT for today... now I'm doing 209km/h each time, and I got no idea why the car is driving so slow. All my laps were now 2:19xx, and were average runs.. maybe the same as a 2:12/2:13..
so Magically my car is now running slower?!

Have I unknowingly clicked something?

What are the weather conditions?

Maybe that could be playing a part. Is it extremely hot. I imagine that could hurt the cars performance, as it does in real life.

Umm, does it change it that much?
I've now closed the game, and will go to bed shortly.. But will try 2moro.

I think when I did my record, the temp was 10 and 15*C...
other days it's been over 42*C.. lol

they should have a track in perth cos the altutude is lower and the Doorslammers went faster. Yeah teperature does affect thec ars I eman if u raced at -5 degrees the car would go faster and make more power but have les handling and stuff wouldn't it?

VQ: Sepang of course, is in Malaysia, and it is so very hot, and humid, in Malaysia, at the time of year, when the Grand Prix is on.

And they usually expect monsoon sort of rains, too, at some stage in the afternoon. The sort of humidity they have, and the heat as well, is very oppressive. The track itself, isn't really that difficult, but, the temperature and humidity really bothers the drivers, and the cars, too.

About cold weather.. Yes, some cars can benefit from that. Do you know the old Mercedes Benz 500E (W124 model, from 1992)? It was the one that we didn't get in Australia. Powered by a quad-cam 32 valve 5.0 litre V8. In cold weather, it was said to be very fast, that car.

Altitude can have a bad effect on performance, too. Remember the GP circuit in Mexico? That was apparently at a high altitude, so, cars would have much less horsepower, because of it, and the teams would run less angled wings. The last turn on that track was truly legendary, and, very, very fast. It was about a 180° change of direction, and at about 260km/hr+, leading onto a long main-straight. That was a fast circuit, that one.

What I want, though, is a grand prix in Sydney, to go along with the one we already have in Melbourne.. That would be good. We have some good roads, in the middle of Sydney, that could make a very very quick, and challenging circuit, with a lot of undulation changes.

Wazza: Being Sepang, the weather conditions can change fairly dramatically.
