View Full Version : Virus in GTR2002 mod? Wazza 04-09-2003, 01:14 AM I got a friend, trying to download GTr2002, but from several different sites, it's showing there's a bomb virus. Some may know him.. Denix or [SS]DenX A member here too.. But are some of these mods infected really? chris 04-09-2003, 01:18 AM Could be that from some sites, that it is virus infected, indeed. Maybe not intentionally, but, it might have been downloaded, then, the person who uploaded it to the new site, has a virus on their computer, that infected the file.. That's all I can suggest. If a virus scanner does indeed say it is infected, then, you'd be wise to believe it, just to be certain. A game is not important enough, to risk your computer for. D_Man 04-09-2003, 04:21 AM My virus checker keeps reporting viruses in the downloads, but I think it is a false positive. I have downloaded the same files from different and get the same warning. I turned off real-time checking and play the game :rolleyes: Dave The Hummer 04-11-2003, 03:40 PM Some times when i scan incoming files my virusscanner keeps telling me it's infected. But when you scan the file could it be that your virusscanner had a high security level in the form of a high level of heuristic scanning options. Try to put your level of security in bloodhound technology down a bit. The pc is still safe no doubt about that,but the bloodhound option will sometimes see a safe file as a threat even there is no infection. Regards The Hummer:D DeniX 04-16-2003, 03:34 AM hi all :) just a some comments about virus i saw. i have dial-up connection (33600), so i had to download GTR mod by parts. I have also Kaspersky AVP anti-virus. AVP monitor showed me mod has virus when i paused download. I tried to find other sites, and in result i tried to download GTR mod from 3 different sites... But AVP keept show me "virus alert" for all sites when i paused download! :confused: Then i decided to download mod in any case and fix it after download complete... I turned off AVP monitor and continued download... i waited 4 nights... and got it! i started AVP scanner for check downloaded file and my AVP said ... THERE IS NO VIRUS :confused: :confused: :confused: Now i race GTR 2 days already with turned on AVP monitor, but have no any virus alerts... |
