Well check this car out: http://www.vkgroup3.com/Fact%20Files/vngroup3.htm go down to the motor article about it.... The power figure is 184 Rear Wheel KW and that makes 250kw at the engine which made it a pretty powerfull car for itz day and even now itz impressive. The Group A is 215 Flywheel KW BTW. Wats amazing tho is this Bathurst Group 3 is using a single throttle body and the Vn Group A has a manifold similar to the Turbo Charged F1 cars but cheaper of course.
Whaddya think?

Seems pretty quick, but, I wonder about the power.

Didn't the VL model Group A (an official HSV car, styled by Peter "Mclaren F1" Stevens) have 200kW, though.

I think the VL model Group A was actually 308 cubic inches, however, and, a different engine. I remember that it was ferociously quick. You could pick it out from the other Holden V8 powered cars, too. The ones I've heard, sounded different, to the standard V8.

Looked quite good, too.

Yeah the Vl Walkinshaw was a beast but the enigne was basically the same but the VN Group A was newer, had a larger body, and improved engine intake and stuff because the Walkinshaw was done quick and lead the way for the Vn Group A And it had 180kw because the Manifold was also heavier and didn't flow as well compared to the VN Group A Manifold and the Vn also has the ZF 6 speed and the Vl had the T5G gearbox which is relitivly weak compared tot he ZF and the T-56. Also the Vn had the basic enine Fuel injected and had the block redesigned slightly fromt he redesigned unleaded v8 block that was required for the VL and the heads on the VL weren't as efficnient as the VN Group A's "D" Port heads. I can't seem to find ne good stuff on this car other then on the HSv site at: http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/classics/brochure/page04.htm and if u go back some pages u wil read about the VL.
Also here some info on the VN Greoup A power :
Engine: 4987 cc V8 (4 bolt main)
Power: 215 FWkW @ 5200 rpm (288 hp)
Torque: 411 Nm @ 4000 rpm (303 ft/lb)
and the Group 3 Bathurst :
Engine: 4987 cc V8
Power : 250 FWKW @ 5800rpm.
Torque: Unknown.
And the Vl Gorup a and the VN gorup a SOunded different fromt he CArbied V8's not the fuel injected ones if thats wat ur talking about cos of the fuel injection and different cams.

The VL model Group A, it sounded quite smooth. It really erupted though, under acceleration.

It was muted, for the most part, but, when it got going, it erupted into a incredible roar.
