After trying some very promising Aussie cars for the game I was left with a non-working F1 2002 ... or it's mods. So I reinstalled it all lastnight and everything is running again except for the Aussie cars. I only tried two Fords lastnight (one at a time)but I will try more today. The game runs fine again after I removed each of the Fords. To bad it wasn't that simple the other day.
I've had them working before and I know they work well for my mate too but minor things weren't quite right in the game and as I poked around to fix those the game shit itself.
I left it for a few days as we had spent hours chatting in our attempts to get it all working for me. Thanks again for all of your time, efforts & patients to that very good friend of mine, you know who you are. ;) -^-^
Well, as i'm also being asked about the Aussie Mod, so I just thought to tell you all here rather than write seperate emails or PMs, that I'm back racing again and I'll keep trying to get the Aussie cars working.

It's all in the name of modding games.
Gawd only knows how many times I have re-installed "High Stakes" or "GTA 3" just from my own track editing.
Some of us just never learn to leave things well enough alone. :D
Thanks for your advice all the same. -^ But I'll keep butchering away at games. I do that a lot more than I actually play them.

I know you're right,it has nothing to do with the phrase i never learn.
It's the only way you gonna learn something ,when you leave you're options empty you never know what you can or can't do.:D
It's very admirable that you dares to play with that kind of stuff.
I know i'm to chicken to try even when i know i should :o
Cya later Mate.

heh Thanks mate.
Editing games such as car racing sims has enabled us to relate to the game better. I live in Australia and I don't have a desire for European cars which are always forced down our throats in these games (especially by the NFS series). It's great to be able to download or make something that is common place in your neighbourhood or a car make and model that you actually own.
Then (if you plan to rebuild or customize your car) you could then see how it would look in another colour, with certain scoops or spoilers, or with a different style of wheels to see what suits it best.
You should give it a go. Just make sure you have some sort of tutorial at easy reach though. NFS cars are relatively easy to edit if you have NFS3 or NFS4 (HS).
There is nothing like racing a car that you actually made on a track that you made. It is such a buzz.... for me anyway. Then when/if other people compliment you for it you walk on clouds and strive to get another one made even better than the previous.
To quote myself from years ago, "we can never have enough editors".
I hope you consider giving it a go.
Have fun.

your welcome, ofcourse i could give it a try,but please tell me what do i need.
I mean what kind of software do i need, and even to consider i'm a newbee in this modding business.
Are there any programs thats not, let's say to difficult for me.
If i put my mind on it i know for sure that i can do it.
But let me know what i need and where to find it.
And what's more important the help files should be not to technical:help: because when you start out i presume the files are the ones that must pull you through.
Ok i leave it to this,i hope you can help me out on this one mate.

Without shelling out a bloody fortune for a 3D modeling program right off the mark you could (and perhaps should) start off with a game that has editing tools freely available for download.
That and the fact that it's an easier game to edit is why I suggested editing "Need For Speed High Stakes" first to get an easily understandable and free introduction to editing. It will also teach you the basic editing language (i.e. what are polygons and vertices) and fundamentals such as texture mapping etc.
If you don't have the game you could find it cheap in almost any PC shop bargain bin.
Until such time you could simply download the tools and a usermade track just to get some practice in.
Unfortunately "F1 2002" doesn't have such a user-friendly and freely available editor currently on offer. All cad programs are expensive but they are a "must have" to edit many games.
To download some NFS tools click here (http://www.totalnfs.net/tools.html). Fortunately almost every NFS editing tool is small in size.
A free 3D Cad program (to make cars in NFS4) is "zmodeler" you'll also find that on the link page. Tutorials are also available.
Personally, I use Car Cad also located on that page link above.
I am slowly learning "3D Studio Max" to edit F1-2002 and even after being active in the NFS editing scene for many years I'm currently at a loss with the required tools for F1.
But once we're on a roll the rewards of self satisfaction, community compliments, and F1's great physics engine, will more than pay itself off.
If you ever need help editing NFS HS I can help you no-end. There is also the "Editing forum" here where you should ask any NFS-HS editing related questions. I eagerly await your first HS editing questions. :hat:-^
Otherwise you'll need to wait for tutorials and expensive software for "F1 2002" but then either or both may neven come.

It comes to mind that i have some programs here called Game Blender and autoCad 200.
I know AutoCad is not for the beginner, but at the other hand GameBlender is a good program for beginners and was totally free.
Look at this URL:
http://www.blender3d.com/
So i go to download the next blender Version and see what i can do,and more important is it compatible with some game-modding.
But he you never know when you ain't trying.
Ok i let you know if i can do something with it.
I hope you like the Program, thought, maybe it is something for you too.
Ok for now,and i let you know when i'm stuck with it.

Keep in mind that Zmodeler is available for free and it has a filter for the F1 2002 MTS files also. That along with MAstudio are the tools most mod teams are using. Admittedly, these are not exactly user friendly but they can be made to work.
