DC_Targa 02-22-2002, 01:57 PM I have a Thrustmaster wheel but a different model. Mine is the NASCAR Prodigital. Not sure if the software has similar options or not. But mine works as follows: I launch the controller software by going to start/setting/control panel/game controller and selecting the "properties" button. The same software may be available via an icon in the system tray portion of your screen if you installed that option. Once the Thustmaster software is running, there is an icon that launches a screen where you can adjust the linearity of the controls. On that screen there is a little icon that looks like a link of chain between the gas and brake pedals (it is gold colored on my software). Click on it and it turns to gray, which puts the gas and brake on separate axis. You will then have to go into the controller set-up in the game and make sure the correct axis is selected for each pedal. Not all games support separate axis, but assuming you are talking about Porsche Unleashed it does. Since you have a different controller, the software is likely different. So just have a look around for an icon that looks like a link of chain. Good Luck, DC_Targa Kemperz 02-22-2002, 03:14 PM I tried that out but I couldn't find the little chain. Bumer MATT 02-23-2002, 11:05 AM My suggestion is to dump the thrustmaster crap and get a better wheel! I've had some very bad experiences with Thrustmaster and I know quite a few others who have as well. At the very least, get a Microsoft wheel. The sidewinders are pretty cheap and they're very solid wheels. I have a Sidewinder myself and I've had very few problems with it, even though I have banged it up quite a bit (heheh...). It's been very reliable, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to dump it for a Force Feedback wheel if I want to become decent at Grand Prix Legends. But for my NFS games, it's been great. Seriously... Thrustmasters are usually CRAP. I would never buy another no matter how much people rave about them. My first wheel was absolutely terrible. Never stayed calibrated and it just eventually pooped out and stopped working altogether. Very bad design. I'm saving my pennies for a MOMO wheel. I saw one at Best Buy a few weeks ago... awesome wheel! People rave about it too.. expensive as well, but from the looks of it and what I hear, it's well-worth the $200 price tag if you're serious about racing games :) |
