I just downloaded it... my computer can handle it, no problem, but how do I get my joystick to work? Is there a controller calibrate option?

Radical-Al 03-02-2003, 08:05 PM how do you install cars... I tryed to on 3 but they the screen says performs an illegal operation and crashes the game. Justin Martin 03-03-2003, 06:04 PM To setup your controller, go to the directory you installed Racer to, then run the config.exe. There you will be able to select from a bunch of controller files already made. You don't have to use one that is for the model of joystick you have, but if you can't find one that feels right, the controller files are in the \data\ctrlsets folder, they're .ini files which can be editing in WordPad and are there is a tutorial on www.racer.nl on editing them. As for cars, the best place to start is at www.racer-extreme.com They have pretty much all the good cars. To install a car, just make a new folder in the \data\cars folder, then extract the car to the new directory. Make sure you're extracting without folders, some authors have folder data included in their zips. There's really no reason to include folders in the .zip, the only time folder name matters is if you're playing multiplayer, which is still pretty buggy. If you still have issues with any errors in Racer, there is a file in the directory you installed Racer to called qlog.txt. This is a log of all the errors, and can give you a clue as to what's wrong. |
