I've just tried out the Gold Coast (Australia) circuit, in the F12002 (check the links post here, for the Deutsche F1 challenge website to download it).
I decided it'd only be appropriate to run the F1 car around here, and not the heavy GT cars. so, out came the red F2002..
Setup for this track is close gear ratios, to allow about 300km/hr in 7th gear. And, add some more wing at the front of the car.
Also, use manual upshifts AND downshifts. You want to have complete control of when you change gears, and not have the gearbox changing down on the entry to a turn when you don't want it to change down, and thus upsetting the back of the car.
The track itself is well made, with no obvious visual errors, though, some things seem a bit different to what I'm used of, notably the walls around the chicane on the back straight. The track though, seems to have a somewhat austere look to it, seemingly like their are not enough tall buildings near by.
Some turns also seem as though they are too fast, although, I can only compare a much heavier and far less agile Cart car to the F1 car, so, it could very well be accurate, and the difference just down to a F1 car being even more agile and quick through turns.
The track itself isn't much of a challenge, not terribly difficult in a F1 car with the traction aids off, even, just get your braking points correct, and, turn in smoothly, and, get the power down smoothly, and try not to block the tyres under braking.
If you can do this, and use smooth cornering lines, you'll get a very quick lap time. A recommended download.
