The obvious question of many is where do we find mods for the game?
So I thought to make a sticky thread where we can all add F1 2002 Mod links.
Please don't post anything else unrelated to F1 2002 Mods here in this thread.
Thank you
One place I have found is F1 2002 HQ (http://f1hq.racesimcentral.com/site/page.php?pagina=1.php&titel=t1). Their currently available Mods include :
Alfa 147 Challenge
Ayrton Senna Tribute
CART 2002
GT Racing 2002
JGTC 500 2000
Le Mans 2001 Prototypes
Le Mans 24 Hours 2002 GTS Class
M3 Challenge
Turbo Mod

After chatting with Dave on the phone I have managed to track down a post of his with another F1 2002 Mods link. The site is F1 2002 Links (http://www.f12002links.com/f12002links/) and their mods can be found on this page (http://www.f12002links.com/f12002links/mods.htm)
It looks as though they have the same collection of Mods as (F1 2002 HQ) the other place.... give or take a few. Perhaps those few are the same only renamed as there are similarities. Sorry I can't confirm that as F1 2002 HQ doesn't display file sizes.
Please feel free to add any F1 2002 Mods URLs (site links) here that you might come across.

There was a German site that had links to heaps of tracks.. I try to find the link for it, and post it here.
I downloaded the excellent Sachsenring circuit from there.
Edit: Here is the link.
Deutsche F1 Challenge:

This site is German language, but, easy to navigate.

Thanks Chris, that looks like a great site for tracks. -^
They include:
Airbase
Brands Hatch
Buenos Aires
Donington Park
Estoril
Fiorano
Hockenheim (Alt)
Indy Oval
Kyalami
Laguna Seca
LeMans
Phillip Island << Don't get this one, it's very buggy
Phillipisland1
Phoenix
Portland
Sachsenring
Sebring
Streckensammlung 1
Streckentexturen
Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast)
Unfortunately the second Phillip Island download (dated later) timed out for me but I did get the earlier version Phillip Island as well as Airbase, Laguna Seca & Gold Coast from there.

Airbase is good (you might need the texture fix for it, if it crashes, just tell me if it crashes, then, organise some space for me to upload it somewhere).
Brands Hatch, and Donington Park are with the GTR2002 mod (if you haven't got GTR2002, then, I suggest you get it, it's awesome).
Le Mans is nice, but, get the old Le Mans, it's more fun. I have it, if you want it. It's large, though. The old Le Mans has the 5km long Mulsanne straight.
Keep an eye out, as well, for the Nurburgring Nordschliefe. SBDT are working on it now, and I can hardly wait for all 22km of this most feared and legendary race track.
The Sachsenring is nice, too. But of a tricky circuit, but with some challenging turns.

Rob, there is a CD version of the mag, but I don't know if it has the mod on it. It might be worth a trip to the newsagent to check. If I get time at lunch I will have a look.

Thanks Dave, I will check out my local newsagent today (between rain down-pours).
Late edit: Well I have returned from the newsagency with the CD version of PC Powerplay.
The shop had both CD and DVD versions and I took both to the counter asking which was the latest. The woman confirmed that they were both the same issue (#84).
Unfortunately this (CD) version does NOT have any Mods. =((
To top it off my download ceased at 73MB before I got back home and my system has lost my IDE CD drive which I only just used it lastnight. =[ I've rebooted but it's still not showing.
It never rains, it bloody pours!!!

There is a bunch of add on cars out for the GTR02 mod. Two other sites with a lot of them are http://www.m4driving.sm/ and http://www.speedsims.com/.
There are also lots of tracks out - I have 49 right now and that does not include all of the NASCAR ovals. Of course, a few of mine are betas that are still in development.
BTW - we have run into one apparent size limit - 64 tracks. Any more and you have to swap them in and out. I have over a hundred cars though so we haven't found the limit on them.
One more thing, I wrote a car manager for F1 2002 that lets you pick exactly which cars you race with and to save sets of cars into files that you can load back in later. I am just about to post it at SpeedSims now.
Have Fun.

49 cars you say, is it any new cars, or is it "redundants" of the models already present?
Carmanager is nice, keep up the good work -^

If not, let me know (PM) and I'll give you the details.
Thank you.

Ah, the details are still the same?
I think you might want to send me the details, via PM, I think, just to be certain.. I still remember the old ones (I never forget passwords or login names, I can remember them all, off the top of my head).

Yes the FTP details are still the same but I will PM them to you as well. Dang, I wish I read this before sending the last PM to you a minute ago. heh

Some tracks not mentioned :
Assen by the SBDT
Chatham from DiDT
Aida by Tantra
Hermanos by Tantra
Jerez by Tantra
Watkins Glen a NT2003 conversion
Sears Point a NT2003 conversion
The F1HQ site has a more comprehensive list and a list of those in progress which include Long Beach, Virginia, Bathurst, Adelaide, Riverside, Road America, Limerock, Norisring, and Daytona 24 Hour. The SBDT will be doing the old Interlagos tracks for the F1 77 mod and it is really amazing !
Check out http://www.bhmotorsports.com for downloads of mods, cars, tracks, and patches. They also have an interview of the SBDT.
The F12002Links site has been closed.
Oh sweet I can get it off powerplay? Oh I was getting it off Matt B which is cheaper I guess.

This is F1 Game based but I was wondering if anyone know some good sites for F1 2000 and would those tracks I think Rob or Chris mentioned, (Sorry if I'm wrong) work on F1 2000?
AccadaccA
04-25-2003, 06:30 AM
Because the F1 2001 tracks need to be modified/converted to suit F1 2002 at a guess I would say no, they would not be interchangable with F1 2000
It would have been better if you both had started a new thread or replied at the end of another as we are hoping to keep this one strictly for F1 2002 mod sites.
Normally it's not a problem but stickies should remain on topic.
Thanks
Hey guys,
Does anyone know the link to find the V8 Supercar mod for F1 Challenge? I just got the game recently and trying to find it-^

I have the F1 2000 and the new one as well. I find myself still playing the older version though. The new one dosen't indicate other driver locations like F1 2000 does. I found the engine sound in F1 99-02 to be horrible as well.

"I found the engine sound in F1 99-02 to be horrible as well."
That must be something to do with the settings in the game, or your computer hardware.
I have 99-02 and the sounds are great, very believable and realistic.
I have done a few mods to them, decreasing opponent volume, and increasing traction control volume. These were suggested by ISI themselves if I remember correctly.

Don't think it's my hardware since it is the ONLY game that has bad sound. I did find a site once that had replacement engine sounds, the game sounds ok now. The replacement basic sounds aren't quite as good as the origional but don't distort.
