View Full Version : Not much anymore Y2kGoofball 02-18-2002, 01:02 AM Hey all not much being said anymore now thay pushed back the date!!! Y2k Dylan 02-18-2002, 02:11 AM i wish i played it when i was at the summernats Y2kGoofball 02-20-2002, 12:24 PM Yeah ... probably the only time before this Christmas you would have got to play it!! Y2k Mickcals 03-11-2002, 11:08 PM :hat:well you can play v8 challenge when it comes out at the end of March:hat: :hat:and what cars do you what me to make for v8 challenge so i get the pictures ready :hat: MattB 03-12-2002, 12:00 AM hmm, l heard the game wont be released to april 19th? is that true??? Y2kGoofball 03-12-2002, 12:48 PM I heard March 20, so probably around that time yes. The reason is that EA are releasing the game with the 2002 cars in it already because someone must have realised that 2001 cars are a bit old now Y2k AccadaccA 03-12-2002, 04:02 PM Yes, this is what I have read too, for being the delay. LOL, it'll be 2003 before they finish changing the cars to 2002 standards. ^_^ Gawd I hope they realize that FAI didn't sponsor the Bathurst podium last year, "Cougar" bourbon did, and who knows what this year holds? They'll get the cars done, announce yet another release date then sit back cellebrating until they read this post and stop the release again to redo the track textures to suit the year. DOH! Sorry fellas. heh Well, it seems to have happened with the cars. The blue FAI foot bridge / podium area was the first thing I noticed with that lot of V8Challenge screenshots. :nono: http://v8shakes.racerplanet.com/images/gallery/sm001.jpg So that was obviously based on 2001 or (earlier) photographs of the Bathurst track. :( I wonder when they actually started making this game? Y2kGoofball 03-12-2002, 09:05 PM you know acca your totally right! I wonder when they started to make the tracks at least before they released that they were doing it?? Y2k MattB 03-13-2002, 08:59 PM it would of been smart to leave the ad banners as one of the last things to do. they had to make models of the tracks and cars, but doesn't mean they had to texture all the ad banners. ie: they could of left the Bathurst podim ad's white, until they knew when the game will be released, and give it the approriate ad. AccadaccA 03-13-2002, 09:29 PM Oh well, we'll just have to keep releasing upgrades :D Mickcals 03-14-2002, 08:39 PM :hat:The reason why they haven't realsed it is becuse of the bugs that EA haven't sort out yet:hat: :hat:I dont think that they are upgrading the cars from 2001 to 2002 because they would of changed the screenshots:hat: MattB 03-14-2002, 09:43 PM goodpoint mickals, but EA havent updated the site since the 18/01/02.......that say enough? BTW< love how u use the :hat: :hat: how many times have u guys seen this pic??? http://www.v8challenge.com/images/coming_soon.jpg Y2kGoofball 03-15-2002, 04:13 AM I dunno - EA have had test days at Sydneys Wonderland (u should know where that is Matt!), Bansktown and the Summernats just to name 3 off the top of my head. They found out problems with them there and fixed them. And from what I have seen on other forums it would sound more like textures than bugs, because if it takes EA 6 months (after they would have "finished it"), bugger knows how many tests and how many people jumpin in the seat to test it... would make EA seem a bit cheap on this game. Plus one guy (Acca u know the guy - the guy who got ripped off his info by that other guy on another forum) is selling about 100 copies of the original 2001 textured games shortly, and he has heard they will be releasing a 2002 verison. So if they are having bug problems how come this guys company is selling 100 copies?? They surely wouldnt release 100 + copies of a faulty game to the general public (I mean even though he owns that business still means his general public cause he dont work at EA) And according to him one of his friends has a copy of the game and he's been playing it with no hassles. I suppose I cant guarantee the integrity of this info but he seems to know what h's on about - after all his company is dedicated to Racing simulation games. Y2k Ps Matt just to make me look special - :crowd: :crowd: :hat: :hat: :hat: Hope u like it!!! MattB 03-15-2002, 04:46 PM bankstown? holy shitE!!!! bankstown is like 10mins away from my house, and l miss out on playing V8challenge....wat a rip PS: l do know were wonderland is Matt(y2k).;) Y2kGoofball 03-15-2002, 10:06 PM Yeah man - it was at bansktown for like 2 days or something and I know it's 10 mins from your house cause it would have been 20 from mine!!! Y2k monaro 03-16-2002, 12:43 AM i'm going tommorow to the adelaide 500 so i'll check out if they have a version like at summernats. er hum, hrt 1, 2 for quallies, 1st in race one, when are you ford boys gonna clean up your act MattB 03-16-2002, 12:45 AM Originally posted by monaro i'm going tommorow to the adelaide 500 so i'll check out if they have a version like at summernats. er hum, hrt 1, 2 for quallies, 1st in race one, when are you ford boys gonna clean up your act hope u get to play it monaro:D ford clean up there act? noway....there's always somethng falling off those ''things'' AccadaccA 03-16-2002, 01:17 AM Yes, HRT qualified first and second but let's not forget the K-Mart Commodore qualified thrid :D It dang near finished that way too. At Bathurst last year those K-Mart Commodores were by far the best sounding cars in the event and on practice the two days prior they went the hardest. Truly awesome power houses to see up close. As with all V8 Supercars, you get whiplash just trying to watch them pass you by. Close up and mobile, photography was a friggin' joke. No way man. Like shooting a moving target, you need to aim ahead. For anyone who has ever thought of going to Bathurst do so. It is a must!!! No matter where you live in Oz. I travelled 1,400kms from Queensland and Nite drove 4,000kms from Perth.... alone. Go once and you'll be bitten by the bug that draws you back every year. monaro 03-16-2002, 01:29 AM yeh, i just posted the results for tommorow in the main forum :D about bathurst, i wish i could say the same for my dad, and in fact the whole male side of my family. He went in about 1994 and brought home a dick johnson hat!!!!!! of course being 7 i had no idea and i wore it for a couple of months *uhhhhh* the whole male side of my family know bugger all about cars, exceopt for changing oil, tires, coolant, power steering fluid etc. actually my dad sort of like fords cos he is a harness racing driver and his colours are black with silver stars so thats why he likes gibson motorcrap, if he only knew............. Y2kGoofball 03-16-2002, 02:45 AM Yeah and lucky for me I live at the foot of the blue mountains so it's a 2 hour drive on the highway for me (and Matt wouldnt have much further to drive either) But lucky for me I'm a club 1 member so I get in with the HRT and have all these privilliges throughout the season (like for $500 I can have a hot lap and lunch with Skaife or Bright at any track excluding Bathurst (and Adeliade I think) So I'm going this year - cant wait Y2k AccadaccA 03-16-2002, 02:51 AM Originally posted by Y2kGoofball .... like for $500 I can have a hot lap and lunch with Skaife or Bright ..... Whoa, too cool -^ Originally posted by Y2kGoofball .... So I'm going this year - cant wait. Excellent! Keep in touch and I see ya there.
