View Full Version : Nfs4 Cars Stoves 01-03-2002, 01:41 PM I have downloaded some cars for NFS4. They show up in the menu, but when I click race it attempts to load and then crashes the game. I have a serial number editor and have no matching numbers. Any Help would be appreciated. PS: l am not the best person to ask about this stuff, it's been ages since l acutally played NFS Remko 01-03-2002, 04:42 PM If you already checked the serials, and they don't have any matching numbers, than the most likely cause is probably a sound issue: there's a few muscle cars, hotrods and dragsters around in which the creators went to great effort to create a sound resembling a heavy rumbling V8, but the side effect of that is on many systems they crash the game while loading a race... the workaround is to go into the game's Audio Options, and change the 3D EAX setting to stereo, it works for most. Let me know if it still crashes after this, so we can think some more. ;) Stoves 01-03-2002, 05:00 PM It still crashes even after the sound change to stero. :( Remko 01-03-2002, 05:44 PM Did you maybe replace some of the standard EA Pursuit cars with downloaded Pursuit cars? Because if you play the runaway, NFS hs uses those cars to chase after you as well, next to the 'traffic' pursuit cars. For example, if you choose an AA car to play the 'criminal', NFS HS will want to load AA pursuit cars like the Porsche 911 or the Diablo to chase after you. I'm just guessing here, but in that case it's probably best to re-install the original Pursuit cars. Or give them back their original serials if you changed them. Does it only crash when you play pursuit mode? Or also in normal modes, or Career? If it's not too many cars, could you describe which ones they are? maybe that helps us. ;) MattB 01-03-2002, 05:52 PM hmmmm, l think maybe if nothin remko told u doesn't work, then maybe u could give us a list of the cars u have d/l, maybe u could try taking out all ur d/l cars from the nfsfolders, and then add a few in at a time, and see what cars are making the game crash. good luck |
