Just wondering, do the driving aid's slow you down in any way while driving?
i personally, still have to use a few aids, ie: stability assistance, and traction control on low.
The rest are turned off, but having those two turned off, are they slowing my lap times down at all?
because if they are, i'll learn to drive without them)=)

yes, braking assistance can really slow you down. I started with braking assistance on high to get the hang of things but once I turned it off I found out that I can out break the AI cars often.
It's kind of fun diving inside the AI on corners now. ;)

yes i had the same thing happen to me with the breaking assitance Vince, but i think the computer breaking for you is pretty boring. SO i turned that of pretty quick.
Tha main one i was wondering about is stability, and traction control.

I don't use aids so i don't know if they slow you down, but it makes sense that they would ;)

I use none of the driving aids, but, I think the stability assistance does really slow you down, big time, since it limits power, I think, and also the traction control can slow you down, a bit.
But, for the F1 cars, the traction control is very useful.
But, on the GT cars, having traction control on low, well, I don't see the point? Doesn't that still allow copious wheelspin at low speeds? It would seem more correct if it limited power more at low speeds, and, was less restrictive at high speeds, when aerodynamic downforce should in theory be much greater, giving you more grip.

i can't really get to grips with the control system in f12001, its seriously whacked. It is way to sensitive for normal driving, yet i can't turn it down, it has that speed sensitivity control, but that doesn't kick in until your travelling at high speed (5th gear and above), this makes manouvering at lower speeds (ie corners) very hard and i hit the wall a bit. It may be a result of my steering wheel (its a non-ff cheapie), as i always need to tone down the reactiveness of the wheel. That said, this wheel is excellent for nascar 2002 (apart from the lack of ff)

The game is very easy to set up to work as desired. If turning is a problem try changing the steering ratio in your setup ;)
