The BMW M3 Challenge mod has been released. I am downloading it now. The download is in 2 parts of about 25MB each. Get it here (if you are interested):

Phew, I think we are going to die from mod overload! ^_^
How many mods is it now, let's see, 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5 and I'm sure there are some that I might have missed.
I think I'll just be happy with GTR2002, for the moment, even though I do love the M3 (the finest inline-6 engine in the world, perhaps?)
Mind you, if it has one of those new M3 CSL's in it, I'll download it right away.. This is the M3 CSL, if you're interested:

This is the new, super-hard edged, semi-racing M3. Imagine it as a successor to the early 90's 3.0 litre BMW M3R, but with a lot more power. This 3.2 litre inline-6 is apparently now good for some 270kW, or nearly 370hp.
As you've probably noticed, it does without stereo system, has only simple air-conditioning system (no fancy climate control like a normal M3), and does without sat-nav and TV, and has no cruise control, and, also no parking radar, and also no GSM telephone. Plus, it also does without the rear seats (at least in the one I saw). And, the leather trim is ditched, as is all the other nice interior trims. The emphasis is on saving weight. But you do get very deep racing bucket seats, however, and racing seat belts. You also get better brakes too, plus the fabulous SMG-II sequential manual gearbox, complete with its integrated launch control system, and 6 shift modes for both manual and auto programs (it can even shift like a normal automatic, if you want it to).
And, to top it off, you get larger wheels, with special super-soft compound semi- racing tyres..
Currently, only prototypes exist of this car, but, I've seen one already, on the move, and heard it. (It was going very fast). It is nothing like a normal M3. Forget the quietness of a standard M3, this thing is loud, and sounds awesome. The sound screams high performance racing car.
It will soon be on sale. BMW Australia wants to sell it here, but, can not confirm whether or not it will be built in right hand drive, and therefore, is not making any promises.

I d/l'ed the M3 mod a little while ago. The cars sound neat, but I have yet to be able to complete one lap without switching ends
I've tweaked & tweaked & tweaked some more, but it doesn't seem like anything's helping... :(

I did a couple of laps of Monza before I went to bed and thought it was pretty good. The handling is a little loose and I hope I can fix that with some tweaking ;)

I tweaked the setup a bit and was hoping to break 2 minutes at Monza but only managed a 2.00.281 :( The car gets out of shape pretty easily and is very hard (if not impossible) to catch when it starts to spin. It reminds me a lot of the physics for the Aussie V8 mod for F1 2001.
Oh well, I need to do some more tweaking to get under 2 minutes :)

Well I managed a 1:59.561 so I'm happy now :D
I got the car handling a bit more stable and was able to push just a little bit harder ;)
