I just had the most amazing race at Monza on VROC. I had joined a race at Spa but they changed the track before the race started &( Anyway, guys started joining the practice session and I had 2 runs at setting a qualifying time and did a 1.29.10 in the Eagle to put me second on the grid. However, just before the race starts Greg Stewart joined

I kinda blew the start and found myself in 5th going into Curva Grande, but settled down to just drive smooth and calm. When I saw the first pit board I saw that Greg Stewart was behind me in a Cooper. As the race unfolded two of the guys in front of me spun and I moved up to third with GS still behind me until he retired after lap 10.

I surprised myself that I didn't crack under the pressure and managed a best lap of 1.28.99.

I have attached the race report from GPLRA for anyone who is interested. I know I will never beat an UBER alien like Greg Stewart again and he was driving a damn Cooper, but it still put a huge smile on my face :D

Happy Dave

Wow, nice time there Dave, at the end of the race too - tough to do (low fuel makes it fast, but hot tyres makes the car real tough to handle)...

Greg Stewart, man, that guy is unbelieable - same a sa lot of those ASRG guys - so damn fast... I felt the same running against the likes of the Division 1 UKGPL guys - and now, our very own aliens - Matt, Paul, John, Mike, Mikey, etc. whew! :)

I may end up buying myself a whole new wheel, would you recommend the Momo, now you've received yours? :D I am used to the LWFF (old style red) which is great...

Anyway, back to work for me :p - again, nice going Dave, I hope I can get a wheel back in working order - I really miss GPL now...

Thanks Phil :)

I am still feeling really happy about the race. I looked at the Ranks of the other guys too. John Pickett is -64, Daniel and the guy who won are over -30 so I was in heavy company for my meagre ability

I would recommend the original MOMO Force. Since I fixed mine it is working perfectly. I have used the MOMO Racing wheel enough to know too much about it. I do know that it is a lot heavier to turn than the MOMO Force. I think some tweaking of the core.ini and adjusting the game controller settings could help a lot to make it easier to drive with.

I hope you get back into it soon -^

I was just watching the replay again and thought that it would be good to get some constructive criticism if anyone is willing  I know some of the gear changes are a bit rough and I nearly lost it a couple of times - once braking into L1 and once into Parabolica.

Any volunteers just let me know and I will try to send it to you. It was my first laps of Monza for a few weeks so I was a bit rusty in the practice session.

Thanks for the advice Dave - I'm going to ask my friend to send me my own LWFF over, as I left it with him for safe keeping in the UK, hehe ;)

As for the replay, send it on over, I'll take a good look - I always enjoy watching replays...

Phil, it's great to hear you will have your trusty LWFF soon :D

I'll shoot that replay to you tonight Aussie time -^

Thanks again

Dave

Oops - I just realised how damn big that file is - over 6MB zipped - so it looks like I can't send it anyway.

Hmm, I can receive any file sizes, unless the problem is with your ISP...

When I get home, I'll get an FTP area setup for you to upload it to my machine at home, if e-mail is a problem.

I will send you a PM when I get that setup (may do it on my lunch break this avo)...

And yeah, I hope to give my mate a call this week to see when he can get my wheel sent over - as I have all the power supply and stuff now, from the one I was given by Paul (Sting)...

Laters,
