Im now in the final final stages of my ute. But it has one problem it crashes every time i have tried to run it, Its not serial number or viv files or colour. It comes up with some code error. I will keep trying but any one who has some sugestions as to what it might me be plz help. Also I am using another tga that someone else made and there site is closed down and i dont know who it is should i relese the car?

My suggestion ...

1) Did they ever visit Racerplanet or any websites you may have access to?? If so put a message out for them to e-mail you. If they do then possibly there e-mail will jog your memory (I say this as many people will claim to be them obviously but if they e-mail you then you may remember that e-mail address!!)

If not 2) I take it as they know your using the texture?? If so then obviously they knew you planned on releasing the texture with the car file.

I wouldn't be so concerned about releasing the car until you sort out the crashing part. What good is it to anyone if it always crashes the game?

Can you recall the site name or it's URL (address) as one of us might know the webmaster who can then tell us of the car's TGA author.

Y2K I didnt plan to release it, it was originally a NFS 3 car. I noticed that it is the same as Kevs one in the pics of his Aussie Muscle mod. Maybe he could help, I got it a long time ago!
I dont know what the problem is though it comes up with an error message. This is the error....hope the attachment works it neva has for me

Jase : You haven't exceeded the 50 car limit have you? You didn't say wether any other car will still work so here's all I can think of for now.
HS will not run (giving that error) if you have too many cars installed. Some folks can only have 48 or 49 where as i have once had 52 cars but the usual limit is 50 cars. Hmm, it might even depend on the total amount of polys of all cars combined.

Unfortunately HS gives pretty much the same error no matter what the problem is..... car or track related.
Count your sub-folders in the Data/Cars/ directory and move some out of there if you are around the fifty mark.

When do you get the error? Does this error occur at a particular point around the track, During startup or as you start loading track/finish loading track? which one it is will help determine the problem. - (gonna post a pic of your car?)

Acca: This is the first car I put into the game. (I didnt think the attachment would work it neva has)
Aussie: This occurs when the game is loading and it gets about 1/6 of the way through. I think the problem is that in my fce I dont have a ::OT but in the FEDATA.ENG it does have it as that , I'll try it and get back to you, As soon as thats fixed I will post a pic.

I dont think ive ever had an error from the fedata had was convertable even tho it wasn't. if it was, it'd crash just as the track is about to be displayed (when it reloads the car to memory). 1/6 suggests it's having trouble with a track texture or track object. My suggest = reinstall game and try it again

I have now re installed the game and it still doesnt work I know its not the game now becuase I have tried other cars and they work. It comes up with the same error perhaps it could be the fce or prt that I exported into the fce?? please help! I will post pics as soon as possible.

To find out if its the car.fce or the car00.tga, copy one of the existing car.viv's eg: the BMW Z3 one and save it over your ss ute car.viv then just import your car.fce and car00.tga into it, change the car name and serial numbers then save it. Try run the game then, that will tell u if your problem lies in those 2 files or another part of the viv.

Hope that makes sense!

Jase: Why didn't you just ask me on MSN? I know the problem already, I know that jargon crap like the back of my hand. It's saying your FCE file isn't working, what you need to do is open your FCE, move a few verticies, save it, import it into the VIV and save. Should work then...
