Masta Kink!

Nothing feels better than driving it nearly flatout. :D

Spa is my new favorite track, I think.. the high speed is just incredible. I still hate Eau Rouge, but that's the way it goes :p

Anyway, I've just been practicing it lately and I just nailed the Masta Kink. Probably not the best or fastest speed through it that anyone has ever had, but I believe it's a PB of mine. I exitted the kink at around 173 mph! That's pretty damn good for me. I know I can go faster, but I'm already about to crap in my pants as fast as I'm going now... lol.

Anyway, here's a replay of it.. I'm so proud ;)

My fastest time today was around a 3:28... not bad considering I spun once during that lap. That's around what my PB is too, I think. So there's quite a few more seconds I KNOW I can knock off. it's just too bad that it doesn't record my practice results in my player profile for my personal track records :( Still says the fastest is a 3:38!

Just curious, but how does Spa rate with all of you? Is it among your favorite tracks?

Spa used to be my favourite track, but it gets boring after a while. My best through Masta is 175 so you are close on that count. My speed through Masta for my 3.19 PB wasn't good - only 169 mph so theoretically I should be able to do a 3.18 :rolleyes:

BTW, guys like Paul do over 180 through Masta :eek:

Spa is great :) Although, I find it like a mini-Ring, where you put a lot of work into a great lap, only to cock it up near the end, meaning another 3 minutes to try again (or cock it up at Eau Rouge, which sucks too :p)

Yeah, I love spa. Its probably the first track that I really learned...I guess because it was so fast. Like Phil said, its really tough to do a really fast lap here. There are so many places to really "cock it up" (I like that ;) ) and there are so many places that you have to be right on the edge...and masta is one of em.

We just had the TNT race tonight, and Ashley Miskelley i think is his name, did a 3:15.20 in a brabham during the race...no draft. Thats really haulin in that car. I did a pb in the brabham in the practice session before the race..3:16.7 i think it was. I meant to get that replay, because I was completely flat out throug masta that time. I checked my low speed and it was 184...I couldnt believe it...I got so lucky. Brabham and Cooper, maybe the ferrari too, are the the only cars I can go through masta completely flat out. The other cars I have to lift just a hair give just a hint on the break to get the car to rotate through that first left part there. Anyway, if you want some of my replays there, I can dig em out and post em here in a zip. I will see if I can get that server replay of that brabham lap I did too.

Whew, 3:15 is really damn fast, in a Brab too? heh, crazy - I struggle getting 17s with the Eagle :p

I find, as well as Masta, the turn after that (Malmedy?) is a very important corner, as it's deceptively fast, you can really scream through there if you're careful with lines - which I didn't realise at first...

Anyways, have fun, as soon as I get my wheel assembled, I hope to join the fray again.

I suck at Spa. Don't ask me. Ask John. :) I'm lucky to hit mid 170's through Masta because I'm a WIMP. I have been in a couple of races with Jonathan Davis though and watched him going through at around 190, which completely blew my mind. Of course, that's the guy that was lapping at 3:14 in a Brabham last week, neck and neck with Barty Mee.

Grats Matt! Spa has plenty of challenging tricky places. Spa is up near the top of my fav tracks, right next to the ring. At the bottom of the list is Monaco and some of those other slow vicious tracks. 173 at Masta sounds like you should be down to the low 20s real soon.

I did a 3:23 the other day not long after posting here... I tried uploading a replay to the new subdomain I got, only to find out it didn't get pointed to the right folder.. I can login and upload, but no one can reach anything I've uploaded through a webbrowser yet :(

There's more to come... I know most of what I need to work on to get at least 3:20, but it's hard to put it all together in the same lap :help:

It'll come eventually :)

You stole me the words from the mouth :D Just like the Ring, it takes a lot of concentration to drive all those tricky spots perfectly, all in a single lap...&(
