Hey guys, I came to use my PC/Wheel this morning, and the wheel started going nuts (sounded as though something wasn't connecting with the FF block and couldn't calibrate itself on bootup. It was fine last night, so, my question is:-

How do I take this thing apart - the pedals don't need to be touched, I think maybe a drivebelt has gone from the wheel column to the FF unit, but I'm unable to open the damn thing to look at it - I've taken all screws out of the base unit, but there's something holding it in there still, and I don't want to break anything, as I think it's totally fixable.

Anyone have any ideas, still not having my work permit makes this tough, as I have to fix this or I have no wheel (and no cash to buy a new one) - I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks.

Laters,

Hmm, well after a little playing around with it - it came apart - seems as though it was stuck...

So, next question is where can I find a wiring diagram/construction notes on this thing, to see what's broke and where, and how to fix it? as I've never seen it apart, when working, I don't know what to look for....

Phil, the only stuff I have seen that shows the internal layout of the LWFF is Jens Schumi's guide to installing the bearing kit.

I have a LWFF wheel lying open in my spare room, so maybe if you could post a pic I can check it against mine :)

I am more knowledgable about the internal layout of the MOMO after replacing the steering pot and having to make my own earth wire after the original one broke. The damn wire has a resistor on it and screws to the internal wheel housing in an unreachable position. I had to put some holes in the red pastic housing to get at the screw

Schumi has a logitech group on groups.yahoo.com so check there for tips on disassembly/reassembly.

Excellent, thanks Roger, Dave - I'll post a picture later on if necessary, I'll check the site and the group first - I just need help with how to get the cables to stay on the drum during re-assembly (there must be a defined way to do it, as it's awkward).

Thanks again, I appreciate the help.
