Here's my Subaru WRX I started ages ago, ive just started to work on it again, it has 6696 pollys so far,without driver,and other details like mirrors,and calipers.

its based on the WRX owned by the Osman Bro's, I'll find a pic of the real thing shortly.
the car is acctully giving me some trouble too,just recently ive been getting this error:

I get it when i try an chose the car from the car menu, other wize the car works fine,ingame. :(

l am not sure but l the the error, but l think it to do with too many polys?;) maybe u could cut ur car in half and see if u dont get the error msg anymore.
OSMAN is a great tuner too, l saw this and the rest of his cars at autosalon (not the the emtpy car show acca ;) ) , l believe this is the fastest WRX in the world:D
l must say the car looks kinda freaky at first, but once u see the real life pic u relise how could the car is:D , l'll try to get a pic soon

cool pics monaro, what site did u get them?
osman had a few cars at the auto-salon, was l correct in saying that this one is the fastest WRX in the world? l think it had 700HP

Yeah i used 2 get dat error sumtimes wit da car i just made, xcept it hasn't done dat in awhile. Sorry dat i can't help i dont know how 2 fix it.

no matt i don't think it is the fastest but that just over a quarter mile, i read one of my mates fast fours once (never again) and the fastest in the world is some norweigan beast

Nice work Evoness, both in the textures and in the carmodel itself.
I guess you already saw the reply at NFSCheats in which RunR explained how to turn off reflections in the NFS4 showroom menu - having to display twice the polys in the showroom floor somehow makes the game go :Puke:
After removing the reflections, PRO was the first to create a car that had more than 12.000 polys, then after modifying some more in the NFS4 menu even managed to take the polycount up to 19.000+:

thank you every one for yor comments,:) thanks mattb, ive put the WRX on a polly diet,rather than modifiying the game menu,it just makes it easer,for everyone. :)
the car is now down to 5800 pollys(mostly from the wheels,there was like a cupla hundred pollys hiding in each wheel,that were doing nothing,i forgot to fuse them.:p )
oh yeh and i think, from memory, this car is acctully a bit mild internally,so i dont think it is the fastes wrx,now is it 700hp, i think its just a big shinny show car.:p
eddie: thank you, that was one of my biggest chalenges,trying to fit all that airbrushing onto a single tga,im glad at least both sides are almost the same too, ive spent many hours setting out the tga,and then altering the mapping several times,trying to get every thing to fit.&(
remko: acctully i didint see that,thanks, but as i said above, ive oppted not to exeed the normal nfs limit,maybe i'll make a racer version with the higher polly count version,and put some hi-res textures on it,so you can really experiance the beautifull artwork.:)
oh yea, heres another pic of it now working in the car menu,im now building the wingmirrors and putting a driver in it.

I've been experimenting lately with high poly cars and I found that the "backface cull" was causing alot of problems with the menu view.
If I had the "backface cull on" it would give me the same "out of ram error" you received and with the "backface cull off" it would be fine.
This was for a high poly Camaro that I just finished.
The good news is you can select just certain polygons for backface culling and leave the rest one sided. You should use it on things like the A pillars on either side of the windows, the roof and maybe some little details that you want to see from both sides!
Anyway, if you already knew all this I hope I was able to help someone who didn't!

Thank you Sniper,i will definatly try that,i as wondering about that,I still have to do something abot the pillars,do i just use the "no cull" flag, or do i use new pollys instead, does it matter?
if, one double sided polly equalls two pollys, that the game engine has to draw.maybe i shoud just make a roofliner and interior with one sided pollys,because i can probally use less pollys,than using the bodys pollys and just makeing them doublesided...i think :?
hmm, looks like ive got some experimenting to do.. ;)

Very considerate to look into polygon economy rather than adjust the menu, evo, everyone with a sub-gigahertz PC will thank you, heh. =)^
Now that I see its 3/4 front view, I can say once again that it looks very good, one of the best Imprezas I've seen so far.

Thanks Remko,i didint intend on making such a high polly car to begin with but now it was getting to the point of the car was starting to slow down my own computer,so i decided i would like to play with my own car,so something had to be done. its still pretty high but, i'll do my best to reduce the about of pollys. to allow ans many people to enjoy my car. :)
anyhow,ive added a few things,which agian has made the polly count jump,but i think ive nerly finished adding pollys :D

when im happy with the car, ill go over it with a fine tooth comb and reduce the pollys.
not a very god pic of the roof, but ive added the sun roof,which i compleatly missed untill only a day ago.:D and ive added an exhaust,mirrors and driver, and "no culled" stuff like pillars and roof.:)

well, ive got a small problem with the windows,and ive got a bit of mesh fine tunning to go, and i still dont have a carp done for it yet,so i dont want to say when its going to get released, (thats going to be an achevement on its own:P )
but when it does, it will be available at aussiemuscle for shure :)
