Well i'm starting to worry that i won't be able to fit into any sports cars. I'm already pretty tall. Taller than my mom and almost as tall as my dad and i'm only 13!!! And my dad is average height. And my uncle was looking for cars and he tried out a Tiboron and he's shorter than me and had trouble fitting in! Whats the average height for head room in the the average sports car??
When I was at Ferrari Los Gatos, we made some interior mods for a couple of odd-sized guys who had 308's. One guy was a professional basketball player, around 7 feet tall. The other was just incredibly fat; even after moving the seat back, he entiely filled the space up to the steering wheel, and he took -- seriously -- a full 5 minutes to get in or out of his car.
Still, there's a lot of variation: the old Datsun 2000 sport car (is that the right model?) from the late 60's or early 70's has loads of headroom even with the top up. OTOH, when I was at Chinetti's, I sat in the 67 or 68 F1 Ferrari we had in the showroom, and while there obviously was no headroom problem, I couldn't see the tach due to my height. Remember how Ford had to put the "Gurney bump" in the roof of the GT40's to accomodate his height? Just buy a big hammer and DYI. :D

It varies alot from car to car, but i'm 6 feet tall and have never had a headroom problem in the front seat of any car. I'd say you'd have to be over 6'6" before you'd start having headroom issues in common, modern sports cars. It would also depend on your seating preferences, if you like to sit with the seat back in the full upright position, you're gonna take up alot more vertical space than you would if you leaned back a bit. So if you reach 7 feet tall, hey, just lean the seat back and buy convertibles. :D
Just how tall are you anyway? Getting tall at an early age doesn't mean you'll keep growing and become a giant, one of my cousins was as tall as his dad by the age of 14 or so, but he stopped growing then, and I eventually caught up with him, he's 6 feet tall just like I am, despite the fact he got their before he turned 15.

couldn't find anything that measured by foot. So i had to use something in centimetres. It may be off a bit but i measured 170cm.

I'm 185cm tall, so i'd say you have to grow quite a bit taller before you'd have problems fitting into sports cars. :monkey:
I'm quite tall, and, I do have some grief fitting in some smaller sports cars, like Alfa Romeo GTV, and the Spider.
The GTV, it's seats go back further, but, its still not an entirely comfortable fit for me.
If you must have a sports car, then, go for a 2.7 litre Boxster, if you can afford it. More room, more comfort, and, the whole thing is about as good a package as you'll get.
I'm about 195cm and I can fit into many cars from when I goto the melbourne Motor Show. My Dad doesn't fit in the VW Polo (previous model) but fits in and owns a mark 3 golf. Go figure! Then again he also has the seat adjustment down to the bottom and as far back as possible. And I also noticed that his mark 1 Passat diseal 81'model and that is just as big as the golf!!!

The bonnot of the passat was a lot bigfger maybe cos of the the north south config even tho the engine was 1.5 litres and the gold is the 1.9 TDi.
The Golfs continued to grow larger and larger.. Compare the modern Mk .IV with the original Mk.I and the differences are massive.
And speaking of VW Polos, has anyone here seen the new one? Very good little car, that one, with lovely build quality. Pity we don't get in Australia all the optional extras you can get in Europe. Otherwise, very impressive.
Even the little 1.4 litre engine is quite impressive, for its size.
