Woohoo 2 of my milestones

I haven't been feeling very well today, but I thought I'd fire up GPL for some laps anyway. Two times that have been bugging me were my 1.29.21 at Monza in the Eagle and the 1.30.12 at Monza in the Honda. I have been trying break the 1.29 and 1.30 marks for these cars for some time now. Well today I bettered both :) I managed a 1.28.80 in the Eagle and a 1.29.67 in the Honda :D

Ultimately I aim to have all the cars negative at Monza, but that is some time off with the BRM on 1.30.66 and the Cooper still in the 1.31s :(

The two milestones made me feel a lot better at least :)

Wow, congrats Dave, nice times there, I find that the Honda is a pig at Monza, it's my least favourite car in the game...reminds me I must start playing again soon,

Phil, I used a Wolgang Woeger Honda setup which I tweaked a bit to suit me a little better. I made a big difference -^

Ashwin, are you still playing GPL much these days? I hope you keep at it, because it just keeps getting better as you improve :D

Congrats, D. I can get my Eagle into the low 1:28s when I'm in the zone, so to say, but the Honda is too much of a dog. I can't break 1:30 with that beast. Although I must admit that I like the Honda better than I like the BRM!

The Cooper and Brabham I also have troubles getting past 1:30. Hell, the Cooper I can't even break out of 1:31 I don't think.. It FEELS like a good car, but it just doesn't seem to have the speed.

The sad thing is, I rarely venture off of Monza.. lol. I do a bit of Monaco here and there and I love Watkins Glen too (broke into the 1:05s with the Lotus a couple weeks ago)

I like to play with Spa and the Nurburgring now and then, but both scare me in different respects.. lol. I'm no where near competitive on either track. Spa is very neat, though. No wonder Gurney called it the grandaddy of all fast tracks. That track is damn insane!

Matt, the Brabham is easy to get into the low 1.30s, but that extra little bit to go under 1.30 is tough. I have still only beaten 1.30 in it once and that was a few months ago :(

The Cooper is definitely the hardest to go negative with at Monza. I am doubtful that I will ever get it there. I think the BRM is a realistic goal though :)

It's been a while since I've tried the Brabham... I usually shy away from using it at Monza simply because it has the lowest horsepower number ;) lol. Plus its handling is a bit on the wild side (but fast if you do it right).

In other news, I just ran a 1:29.85 with the Honda. I started using Andreas Wilke's setup. I've been using his Eagle setup for a while now and really like it, so I decided to give it a try with the Honda (and Lotus as well..) Worked out nicely. I'll have to give it a go online later tonight.

I've pretty much given up on the BRM, though.. lol

I've had so few time lately to play GPL...last week in U.K. for business, this weekend fighting with the new GeF3 and my onboard sound card, next week in Germany...:(

Well, at least during my FPS / Stability tests I tried some laps at Syracuse (one of the most texture-rich tracks around) and a race at Silverstone: both tests gave no problems and new PBs...;)

I wanted to attach a replay of a 1.29.09 I did yesterday. I was just trying some different setups and driving conservatively doing 1.30.0x type laps and a 1.29.09 just popped up :) It felt easy and I wasn't pushing, so I thought I would ask for comment on it. Unfortunately it exceeds the 100KB file size limit :(
