I read in the EA website that you earn/lose points by winning/losing races online. Fine.

But how do you get points in DR-stats? Are they the same points as EA's? Do you get any point because of your Top-50 times?

Just asking because I saw my points increasing after an evening "session" with some fast DC drivers, where I scored some Top-50 but almost always lost the race...:)

thanks

DR stats are pulled directly from the top 50 track times on EA's site. So that's why you're points were increasing. ;)

Wait, wait! That's just the point of my question: are the points coming from top50 times or from race positions? EA speaks of the latter only, they don't mention points coming from record track times...

DR stats are completely different. It's their own thing. They base their points systems on track records (Top 50 track times, as Josh put it). You get 50 points for holding the World Record (1st place), 49 points for 2nd, 48 for 3rd... etc. until you get down to 50th place, where you get 1 point. All your top 50 records hold a score like that on the DR stats and it adds all those up to give you a score.

Most people use the DR stats because they can filter most (but not all) of the bogus times, hacks, and cheaters. I don't ever bother looking at the top 50 racers page on the EA site can easily be affected by the misrecordings and hacks.

The unfortunate thing is that the DR stats are only as good as the EA track records. For example, there are no listings for the 356B bahn fwd times because all of them are bogus and have been filtered out. Another unfortunate thing too is once there is a misrecording against your persona for a particular track, it eliminates your points and your chance for a time on that track.

Take a look at my '67 time on Alps fwd at EA. Then take a look at the DR stats and you will see I'm hosed regarding ever getting a top 50 on that track since the misrecorded time is filtered out.

I'm hopefull that will all change if EA turns the stats over to a third party as suggested.

Until then,
