WCvXd 10-21-2002, 12:01 PM welcome prize... Are you using the default gfx and sound in gpl? If so, check here http://www.racerplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4873 and view the game setup guide. It will GREATLY increase the shear beauty of this game. My persona at GPL rank is JeffR, same as it is here and online with NFSPU and NFSHS. You might want to check out racesim central (http://www.racesimcentral.com/) and their forums, more GPL stuff over there. D_Man 10-21-2002, 11:37 PM Welcome Prize to the best driving game ever :) I am currently helping Mark (Dogz, FROG) get set up with GPL again. I can only re-iterate what folks have already said, and that it's a tough challenging game, but so much fun and rewarding once you start to get to grips with it... See you around sometime, WCvXd 10-22-2002, 11:07 AM Thx Phil, looks like I copied the wrong url ;) prize 10-22-2002, 11:36 AM Hi Thanks mates. The setup guide/ introduce/upgrade stuffs is just what I need at this moment. Can not wait to read them. Chey, yes, now I am on my faster computer, can run games, hehe. I need some more "private" practice, because before joining a pit like yours, I should know the next coming curve is from left or from right, hehe. I am confusing about the program called WinVorc last night, when I first time try to do some "online's". I come into the chat room, see many people and servers there, I can chat, but can not join any of the servers, (in front of the server name there's a red pot, while another guy RJ-cycus said he can see some blue pot sever), press the mouse right button, find "join" "insert"and another one is grey, can not press/run it. And in the above tool bar, the"Host", "Join" and a one is in "grey" as well. I don't know this is why, Cyrus is all ok, we download all the programs(the game, the winvroc, the vrocip, from the same place. And I think the game's file patch selecting is no problem. Can you give me some advice? there's the shot of it [img]http://bbs.theracer.net/attachment.php?s=&postid=183581[img] WCvXd 10-22-2002, 01:36 PM Prize, Place the attached file here 'vroc.ini' into your WinVROC directory. This file has the new race server listed, and should allow you to join the races. btw, when you get onto vroc, look for J_Dantzler_WC ...thats me. ;) prize 10-24-2002, 07:12 PM Thanks WCvXd I can host and join now, it's great! but don't still understand why I can not join the red pits. Can only join the grean ones. D_Man 10-24-2002, 08:26 PM prize, many servers are private and some have restrictions that you have to meet to be able to join. Go to the VROC help page and read what the different colours and letters mean. This will help you to understand. Some servers are only for members of leagues and may have passwords on them and therefore are Blue. WCvXd 10-24-2002, 08:46 PM Here is a quick definition of each... green: open server, you can join orange: could mean a couple of things (almost full, no ping, or in transition from practice to race) blue: passworded race, if you dont know the password, then you cant join red: coupld of meanings (race in progress, server is full, or if the trackname is prefixed with a "-" then you either dont have that track installed, or it isnt installed correctly. I hope that clears it up a little for ya. :) have fun! prize 10-24-2002, 09:30 PM Got it! :) Cheyenne 10-24-2002, 09:43 PM Hi, Prize! Here you go... http://www.geocities.com/xrchey/prize/911turbos..txt just put this in your signature line ... {img}http://www.geocities.com/xrchey/prize/911turbos..txt{/img} ... except replace the { } with [ ] brackets and it will work! DC_Tox 10-25-2002, 05:44 AM Originally posted by WCvXd if the trackname is prefixed with a "-" then you either dont have that track installed, or it isnt installed correctly. Sometimes I get a "-" sign in front of tracks that I have correctly installed  Sometimes they are installed tracks that are not currently in my season.ini (I have only original and Challenge Rank tracks, normally), but sometimes theyt ARE in the track.ini.... WCvXd 10-25-2002, 08:17 AM Thats exactly what I mean by correctly installed. If its not in your season67.ini, then its not correctly installed. ;) D_Man 10-25-2002, 02:56 PM Tox, if they aren't in your ini file, you can't race on them. That's why the "-" will appear in front of them in VROC. |
