View Full Version : Online Play not working RCracer 02-02-2002, 03:47 PM I was getting online a lot to play NFS PU but after i downloaded the 911 GT3 every time i tried to get online it would say, after a long wait, connection lost or it wouldn't do anything. Also I know my internet connection is working. Also i don't know what i did but i don't have a problem with the downloaded cars anymore :) DC_Targa 02-04-2002, 08:09 AM To me it doesn't appear to be a problem with the download car since that is one of the 4 EA created legal downloads. The inability to connect and lost connections are typically associated with EA's database server going down. Even though you may look at EA's server status page http://www.earacing.com/PU_ServerStatus.phtml and see it shows all servers are up, if the database server which logs you on is down, you get those same messages. If you see people are racing, refresh the status page every couple of minutes. If the number dwindles rapidly, it means people are getting progressively dumped. When the numbers start increasing, it means people are able to reconnect again. I heard a rumor that the EA servers are automatically running some form of maintenance code periodically to limit the down time. If you are ever connected and get dumped, then reconnect and find out the EVERYONE got dumped, it is likely the maintenance code was run to "refresh" things.
