Sorry I don't mean to offend anyone but V8 SHAKES has been non-functional and looking pretty sad since handing it over. I don't know what brick walls you guys have ran into but something needs to be done and pretty soon as it's offering less now than it did when it was unattended.
So I decided to spend the weekend making a design for you guys to use. It would suit the skins pages but would also do for the whole site if you like.

You aren't obliged to use it and no love will be lost if you don't. But something needs to be done with V8 SHAKES soon.

Hey, Acca, i was going past and heard some scraping noises so decided to check it out. I guess you are still keeping in touch after all.;) Things have been very quiet around rp forums and the last server move has knocked many sites off the edge of the cyber-world.
I guess you still feel it necessary to keep an eye on your 'baby' the v8shakes site
My personal opinion on the demo-site is it looks great, but has terrible navigation and functionality. You obviously spend a bit of time on it, trouble is the buttons dont show up until you point at them and wait 30 seconds for the image to load, so maybe the guys should consider that and make some alterations.

It a bit slow to show but that smy crappy connection.
The truth is that all my designs were shit (to put it nicely), only because everything I know about web design I have learned myself recently
But I will talk it over with them, thanks for it. Sorry for the crapness and slowness, I have been having mega problems both at home and on the computer.

i think ur new page is very good but it may not be quite user friendly. This is only my opinion.

BTW no offence taken. I increased my screen size and it looked good. I get what it looks like now.
I think I know what we need to do, rob pls upload it to v8shakes in a folder named demo or something and I will play around with it

BTW can you make it smaller so it fits on a 800x600 screen (or whatever the resolution is)
WellI haven't used the internet 4 a while but at leastu kept parts of the site.Acca that design is good how long did it take?WellI guess cosI desinged the site with 1024 in mindI should make a 80X600 version.
Kev:It's only slow on ur computer cos I'm at my frineds house on hs comp and the site works fast.
Nick & Y2k nice work on updating the site.I only did the site very loosly and it turned out nice. I shouldv'e warned people about the 1024 thing as well as the flash but since I didn't check it on ne other computers with other resoloutions. And thanks for updating my part of the site as well.
Acca:Ur old version of thesite seemed cramped to me so I made my site as simple as possible cos Looking through the old V8shakes made me feel cramped.Still I like the design.

I think the website looks great but I have to agree with Kev and Perko, i dont think it is user friendly and it does take its time loading, but i really like the idea of making to website as if you are inside of a car, thats just genius

yeah, the site is still crap but were making progress.
ACCA - when you read this (if you do) please upload that design to v8shakes, we will use it
For the team members ...
Tell me what you think of this ... The main page will be accas car dash thingny bobdy boo (accas version). This is to be different to other sites. It will have clear buttons to press and stuff, so it wont be as confusing. The main prob is accas made clear buttons, so unless we visualise you cant really see how friendly it is
Then when a button is pressed, it will go to that page, which is the current pages. From their they can use the blue bar up top to navigate
ALEX - can you also modify the bar to include Review (so we can offer a review of the game) and Other Games (or other) so we can include our NFS cars, and some other deals I am currently making)
The car selection also needs to include utes

yeah I guess I can. Well it takes it's tie only 4 peop;e with crap connections no offene ne 1 blame ur Isp if it's slow cos when I use it on ne computer and line including my 36 it runs pretty quick.

Y2k : Thanks for understanding that the "blank.gifs" (clear buttons) were only because of it being a demo.
Those of you who um... failed to see that it was pointless of me naming these buttons, ("terrible navigation and functionality" & "user unfriendly") sorry, what can I say? :rolleyes: Maybe you didn't venture far enough.
Anyway due to those still stuck in 800x600 I revamped my approach with a suitable version so if you drop by for another look remember to refresh. each page. That'll be by right mouse click (for those still playing pin the tail on the donkey).

Oh and I really do apologize for my previous comments on the current appearance of SHAKES. Today I saw that it had infact been updated (on the 28th) but I still had the ol' grey design in my cache until this arvo. Sorry for my careless mistake fellas. :nono:

BTW, You gotta teach me how to use Fash5, I have tried and tried but it shits me to tears.

Doh, I should finish uploading before announcing. I made a huge stuff-up with the navigation (maily 800x600) so if you took a gander since my last post it wasn't quite right then but it is now.
About the sig, well it's been there since the birth of "V8 SHAKES" on the Racerplanet servers. (I said it that way because Nite had the original "V8 SHAKES" name on another server.)

Who teaching u flash 5? I'm using Dreamweaver and it does Flash stuff. Ne way glad u like the site U shouldv'e relaoded again cos fI do everytime.

BTW, I uploaded lastnight to http://v8shakes.racerplanet.com/Accas/ and hope nobody minds I also took the liberty of making a "V8 SHAKES" icon for the site. If you use the remote control (remember to REFRESH everything) to save to favourites then the icon will show up.

I have Dreamweaver 4 and MX as well but I only use MX. The logo looks good. I have seen the design somewhere.

Hey every Ford fans (and Holden fans :Puke:if they want) watching Bathurst here's something to read start from the V8 Supercar website:
BA Falcon Racecar:bow: To Debut At Bathurst!
Ford today announced that its exciting new BA-model Ford Falcon V8 Supercar will be on show at this year's Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at Bathurst on Sunday 13 October 2002.
The BA V8 Supercar will be in the Ford Merchandise Hall in Harris Park.
Built by Ford with the same engineering expertise used to develop the BA Falcon road car range, the first 2003 model V8 Supercar is a developmental platform from which final technical specifications will be made ahead of its first season of competition.
The knowledge gained from this development program will be shared by all Ford teams ahead of the 2003 season.
The new BA-model Falcon is also the first-ever factory-built Ford V8 Supercar.
The car will feature a striking paint scheme designed by Ford Design Studio's Nick Hogios, who's also designed the now-famous 'Green-Eyed Monster' 00 Motorsport Falcon Supercar of Craig Lowndes.
Following its Bathurst appearance, the BA V8 Supercar will be a key member of the Ford stand at the Sydney Motor Show between Friday 18 - Sunday 27 October inclusive.

Mickcals ... if you want to see the BA falcon they have it at sinclair ford at Mulgoa Rd Penrith. We drive past it all the time becase it is sitting out the front on the lawn

Yeah but the one at Sinclair Ford doesnt have the 00 Motorsport colours on it and i am this weekend (i think)
Um HRT have already done their VY commodore as well cos of the HSV/HRT being partly owned by Holden. Ne way wats so good Ford have and advantage cos Holdens have to use all this stuff that Ford already uses yet Holden were still winning so now they might as wel stick skyyyline bodys on it and it won;t Matter!!!! Jeez when will they stop?

Geez I hope the BLAH Falcon has a lockable fuel cap as I'll be drinking plenty at Bathurst over the 4 day weekend and when ya gotta go you just gotta go. :hat:-^

yeah maybe U could help all the Ford teams by doing that hey? LOL Ne way hope U get to meet Peter Brock there cos I've meet him and he's a nice guy. Just wish i had my Commodore magazzine with me when I met him cos it had his HDT moza in it.

guys you need to pick up your act some, i have a cd coming with 350 skins on it and i need some where to upload them to, there are even rumblings on the ea boards about it, so i aks you guys to get some files on there, i will begin uploading soon as i receive them

ok well I haven't seen Y2k 4 a while so it might be more up to him.
Well looked at the EA foruym under V8challange and at the sites there and most of them are crap as far as skins go. But some have car setups instead or track addons. Others have all of the above and other bits as well but I liked the deisgn (screenshots of cars in 5 at time to the left in a frame.) I think I'll spend a day adding stuff to thed site and Maybe update the front screen.

Well according to the EA forum for V8 Challenge Boss racing has organised the skins that were on the VSS site (dunnno wat that stands 4 but ne way) are being uplaoded to Aussie Muscle not V8shakes. I reckon we shoud get our act together and make sure it goews on our site for the links so we don't lose V8 shakes!
Oh yeah I'm online but MSN won't log me in.
