John (WCvXd) sent me some car and track updates and I tried some of them...WOW! What a difference!
My frame rate dropped a bit (from 36fps at 800x600 with a full grid, from behind, to 33-35fps) but it's worth all single frame...:D
I love how the Brabham driver shifts with the external part of the hand...LOL...it's so perfectly detailed!
One question for you GPL gurus:
I've seen that a huge database exists for tracks, while for cars you only have updates to the original ones in GPL, is this correct? Can you race online with downloaded cars and/or tracks?

With downloaded tracks you can race online all day long! And with car updates, you can do the same. I dont think that there are totally new cars that you can download and add to the game. Why would you want new cars anyway, with the updates they have now, they are simply gorgeous.
Tox, I cant remember what cars updates I included in that bit, but check here http://gplea.racesimcentral.com[/url] to get the most recent ferrari, Eagle, and Honda, and the Brabham is the one that I gave you. For all the others I just use the jf carsets that I gave you.

I installed the following cars, among the several ones you sent me:
GPLEA Eagle v.2.1
GPLEA Ferrari 312 v.2.0
GPLEA Honda RA300 v.1
Bruce Johnson's Brabham
All the others from jf_carset_1.2
Are these the best choices? It seems so...I'm totally satisfied with them, just look at this screenshot of the Lotus, it's simply gorgeus:

Today I also downloaded some skins for the Ferrari and the "dirty tyres" from the Dixie Runner's site...GREAT STUFF too.
I actually wanted to post a message into your message board to say how great it is... but no "guest" posting is allowed ... hehe

If you saw my Lotus, you would cry ;)
I have Micha's Lotus (Based on Bruce Johnson's V2) and Eguzo's graphic updates. It looks awesome.
My Cooper is very nice with updates from many sources.
I'm using Lloyd's P115 BRM - sweet - with various little updates as well.
If you can get hold of Paul's Lotus, Cooper and BRM dat file versions, you will have a nice set of cars.
