Hey.. :p
I'll be getting this game soon with the purchase of a Logitech Wheel.. and just wondering where I can find websites on the game.. Or update pages, or screenshots etc. Is there like mod versions?;)

Wazza,
There are tons of mods for the game. I currently have 75 tracks installed on mine. And a whole bunch more that I haven't gotten around to installing. There are probably a zillion add on cars available. (At Speedsims, one fellow was complaining that SCGT wouldn't accept more than 399 cars. LoL) Everything from a 1963 356B Porsche Carrera coupe to to 550A Spyders to F1 cars and even dragsters. One of the tracks is even a drag strip.
The graphics aren't as good as PU. The physics are better. The online racing is more limited. There is no central server like PU. All races are organized by small groups and individual racers will host up to 4 or 6 cars in a race.
The competition is ferocious! Yet the racers are gentlemen and good sports. We have to be. Collision is always on in SCGT.
First thing, log onto Speedsims. They have a ton of D/Ls and an SCGT forum. Next, join some of the yahoo clubs that sponsor SCGT races. Here's some links, but this is just scratching the surface:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/btcc_scgt/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/themotorsportclub/
http://teamspeedsims.com/jps/ (SCGT Track list and links)
If you come to the TrophyCup Club (TCC), Doug and I can help you get started. We have races on Friday and Saturday at 6:00 PM Pacific time ((GMT-8) Check the calendar for the schedule.
I've attached an install guide to help you with installing cars and tracks. I'm not sure who wrote it, but it should help. There are some hoops you have to jump through at first. But after that it's just drag and drop, drag and drop.
I'm sure you'll have some problems at first. You can post here or at TCC to get help with anything.

Cheers, McGregor. Expected something from you. :D
Great stuff...
However, I'm not too sure about my playability and online racing. I'm only on 56K, and a badish pinger in PU. And I'm guessing these files are rather large. Oh wait, I forgot, my new job has permanent satellite connection. Could download and place it on disk ;)
I'll have to try this in a couple off weeks. 8)~

Wazza,
I also have a 56K connection. (Or is that 5.6 bps connection via smoke signals) I have also had good connections with an ISP that has 26400 maximum connect speed. Your modem shouldn't be a problem. I don't know how the connection is to NZ, but we have had many racers from OZ with 56K and minimal lag. That's why we chose that time. It's a reasonable time here and in OZ. It's a little hard for Europe though.
The online connection varies according to the quality of the host's connection and computer. Also, according to the traffic on the internet at that time. Typical maximum pit sizes are 3 for DSL and 4 for cable. One host has been able to have a pit of 6 racers with minimal lag.
Typical track file sizes are about 5 megs. The largest are over 10 megs. That's 1/2 hour and 1 hour D/L times at 56K. Typical car file sizes are under 1 meg. Got a R/W CD at work? That would make it a snap. If not, you can always use WinZip to span several floppies. Tedious, but better than 56K.
TCC uses Vintage cars (available at that site) and the GTQ cars from the game. The Vintage cars have only the suspension upgrade and the GTQ cars have all upgrades. AOE (Advanced Options Editor) is required for GTQ races. It's also available at TCC in the file secton.
Keep me posted,
RR

Also, I guess you must play some other game(s)?
GPL?
Thanks for the info again.
I'll get back now when I finally pick up the wheel and game. Perhaps for first week I'll only be in PU trying to beat the normal 2 week transition period from a joystick to a wheel. Gonna be fun. Hehe

I've had GPL since it was new I never cared for the feel of the cars.
I'm only racing SCGT right now. I do have Nascar Heat and F1 2001. Both with sports car addons. I don't do much with them though. Takes too much energy.
Good luck with the wheel.

Oh great. hehe
I'll probably, no doubt get addicted to NFS6 too. ;)
And NFS5 will probably die soon within 6-9months. I think that is acceptable though. Been around for a good time, and been lots of fun to us.

Hi Wazza :)
Like Mac, I've got NASCAR HEAT and F1 2001, both with a number of add-on sports car mods.
Both are great however to me, sports car GT when properly set up is #1 in the car physics department, which is all I care about. GPL is of course known as the best, I just don't get enjoyment out of it.
I made these two sites to help get set up. Lots of people have tried SCGT and didn't give it a fair chance, or get it running right so they just give up.
Hope these help:

Just a note about modems. For the client (not the server) a slow connect can be better. 33k and lower is the best connection speed for GPL I know.

Well I finally installed the game the other day... I couldn't seem to set anything up.. Maybe I'll have another look at it some time this week...
Is there a certain way to change graphics options and settings etc?
I only had 1 race on keyboard with some Porsche 911 TUrbo I think.. :D
