Hello people.
I downloaded a persona from nfscheats that was supposed to be 1 that had finished evoloution & owned all cars with all upgrades. After using it online i find that there are still several cars that he hasnt bought. Plus he has bought 2 or 3 of the same model on a few of them. Can anyone tell me where i can get one that will have every car owned with full upgrades?
I also would like to know wether people use rain tyres online & if so how do u change tyres online?

Jeff Reid, regular visitor of alt.games.need-for-speed has uploaded his own PU savegame with all 84 cars unlocked: http://members.home.net/jeffareid/
I dont know if they're all tuned, but if you ask me, that's half the fun of the game. :)
It's been a while since I raced PU online, but in the pit, there's a button (under the one where you pick your car) that lets you go back to your garage and change your setup.

E-mail me (see my profile for address) and I can send you my profile with 80 tuned cars (with all upgrades) + the 3 special painted models won with the factory training mode.
I made it car by car and all by myself without cheating, so I'm very proud if it :p
You should only modify the car setup (suspension, etc...) up to your personal taste, I'm still trying to find the best set-up for each track and car.

As written above, you can go to garage while online, but you can't buy parts: you must have the rain tyres in your spare part warehouse before going online.

Well to be honest none of the fastest racers that I know of use the rain tires. Although they do help some, it's faster not to use them, yes even on the snow in the Alps. ;)

Oh, yes, I forgot to say that but I subscribe completely what jtace says: slick tyres are faster that rain tyres, even in the Alps track.
This is some kind of "bad modeling" in the car simulation by EA, just like the "Engine upgrades" that always go slower than the original engine :(
That's why you won't find any engine upgrade in my savegame's cars, if you try it. I tried ALL of them before removing and, believe me, NONE of the engine upgrades (356, 911 and others) will give you better performance. On the contrary 911's upgrades will slow down the car by 20 or more km/h

be warned though...many people around here frown on others for using anothers save game to get all the cars. Going through evo mode is a better way to do it and you learn along the way. Same goes for user made cars, editors and such. Some things are ok, some aren't. User made cars are NEVER ok online, neither are the official dl cars from EA "IF" you upgrade them, they are OK in there original untuned state.
As for the save file you have...many of the cars are rarely used because they aren't fast enough to post top 50 times at EAOR, since the stats were just reset they don't reflect this just yet but they will very soon. There is only about 20 cars, 1 or 2 in each class that are capable of wr's(world records) and with some cars it's good to have a couple ready with high or low df(downforce) and/or gearing for differant tracks. Also I think the game only allows you to have 84(??) in your garage, so you may already have a really good selection of cars. Compare it to the cars holding wr's here..
Can I also "suggest" a name change, I'm not personally offended but the PU community consists of people of all ages and a few ladies as well. It your choice of course, it's impossible to control other than by suggestion and there are much worse names online. I wouldn't take the time to suggest a change for some, I would just eject them for being idiots. You were in my pit(Spd's pit) the other day and seemed like an OK person though so I stopped to see what you had to say. However, had anyone been offended I would have asked you to leave.
I have to admit my 1st online name wasn't much better, although it was in direct relation to my driving skills at the time.

Corrado,
I'm not sure if you know this or not, but your .sav game contains a lot more information than just the owned cars. It contains your display options, controller options, etc. Most importantly, it contains the name you used to register with EA Racing and your PASSWORD. And, they are NOT encrypted. The .sav games you will find on the web typically have been hex edited to remove the user name and password.
Welcome to on-line racing! Glad to hear you were able to get on-line and race a few. Off-line was fun when I originally got the game. But on-line is the addictive part! Hope to see you in the pits.

Oh! Thanks for the info.
I'll hexedit it before distributing to anyone.
I also suggest to build a personal savegame instead of asking for other's, 'cause it's more satisfactory and you know the included cars perfectly, but I know it's quite difficult.
I had to play PU completely 3 times before getting this 83 cars profile: the first time I just raced to END the tournaments, the second time to WIN all tournaments, the 3rd for the cars.

It could be looked upon like that. But driving through the snow, the rain tires may help, but most of the actual alps road is still pavement where the slicks will perform the best. Also, if you try something like Rally mode, stock tires usually grip better than the slicks in the dirt.
As for engine upgrades, yeah, they mostly just add too much weight to justify the little bit of extra power it gives you. I've been playing around in evolution mode lately and have installed some engine upgrades to one of the early 356s. It DOES give it more power and a couple mph higher top speed, but it kills the handling pretty badly. That's why it's better to just stick with a later 356 that comes with that engine (the first '50 356s offer up to a 1500 S upgrade, i think, but it's better to just buy the '53 1500 S itself rather than upgrading the engine of an older 356).

I couldn't find those higher mph in my tests.
I tried the 356's upgrades, the 911's and the 914's ones, all with the same result: same or, more often, reduced speed. I must say that I tried with a sort of "acceleration test": in one of the quite long straight sectors in Autobahn, enter with same speed and see the exit speed.
Maybe the TOP speed is higher, but you reach it much later (if you do), so it's mostly useless.

True, surely. The 1500 engines for the 356, the 1600 S models for the 356A, the S-90 for 356B, the S model for the 911 and finally the 2.0 litres engine for the 914 are the better choice for that cars, but not as upgrade.

The 1500 upgrade for the 1950 comes the closest to not harming the times, but even there it's slower. At the time I was consistent and relatively quick at PU, I tried it out at the Zone (the Zone and Bahn are the two tracks where the 53 is far better than the 56 Speedsters) and came up with about a 2 sec disadvantage compared with the non-upgraded car.

I dont know if they're all tuned, but if you ask me, that's half the fun of the game. :)
Because Excite@home went bankrupt, I have a new home page at:
All cars are tuned somewhat, but I do adjust toe in and rear tire pressure a bit different than what's in the garage. For the 1995 911 turbo, I use:
98/33 downforce
43/45 tire pressure
toe in all the way to the right.
This is my max cornering setup. For high speed tracks like zone,
I would use
80/0 downforce
45/45 tire pressure
toe in centered
For the GT1 at zone (manual shift), I use:
90/0 downforce
45/45 tire pressure
toe in centered
gear adjustments 1st thru 6th and overall:
1st -.15 2nd -.20 3rd -.20 4th -.15 5th -.10 6th -.25
final -.50
For GT1 at autobahn, only lower gear offsets by .05:
-.10 -.15 -.15 -.10 -.05 -.25 -.50
For the other tracks with the GT1 I use:
99/33 downforce
44/45 or 45/45 tire pressure
toe in ? (not sure if all the way right is better than centered)
gear adjustments:
+.5 0 0 +.5 +.10 -.25 -.50
for alps tire pressure is 45/45 to reduce oversteer in snow
Note, when racing online setup info is included in the saved replay.rpl file at the start of each race, for all players in the race. Eventually a utility will be made to display this data.

There's already been utility made to do that. It's called Dirty Harry :) Started by an idea I had and then Strobe took it from there (with help from others like DC_Targa to match up SIM files and the like to detect cheats...) It also reads the setup info for everyone in the pit :)
I'm pretty lazy with my setups sometimes. I just leave them the same way for all tracks.
The most important ones: GT1 and '95 Turbo.
GT1: suspension as stiff and as low as it'll go. Toe-in all the way right, brake bias way forwards. Downforce is 70/1 and tire pressure 41/45 . The low rear tire pressure is great for cornering, but it does hamper high-end acceleration. But in my opinion, the much greater handling outweighs that slight top end acceleration defficiency... even on the Autobahn (I've done several sub-2 minute times with this setup.... I have a 1:59.93 offline replay as well). oh.. Almost forgot the gears: -50, -30, -20, -15, -10, -25, -50, -50 (that's in order, first through sixth, reverse and final). I have to give it all the revs it can take at the start to get off the line decently. But in the end I think it's the way to go (I have tried similar gear setups which you have, but never ended up liking them as much as my original gear setup I've posted above).
'95 Turbo: suspension and toe-in plus brake bias are all like my GT1 setup listed above. The tire pressure and downforce is what I've changed. It's a bit of a wild setup at times, but properly controlled, its handling is unparalleled... at least from all the other setups I've tried. Tire pressure is 40/45 (r/f is the format I always use.. just so you know) and at the moment I have 100/10 downforce. It's great for Pyrenees and I have done pretty well with it on fast tracks as well (pulled 2:00 on Zone one night with it and a 2:03 on the Autobahn... although I'm not a fan of the '95 Turbo on the Autobahn... just doesn't do the down ramps well, even with this monsterous amount of downforce). My original 40/45 tire pressure setup had 70/2 downforce (a suggestion made by S0UL, who also enlightened me to that lower tire pressure setting as well when I was using 42/45 that Andre ([DR]AS) was using at the time)

I know, thanks. The fact is that I lost the GT1 in the last race: I'm getting sooo used to online racing and c/d off that I forgot to steer away from other AI racers at the first corner... BuMmEr...:) Useless to say that I couldn't reach 'Dylan' with a wreck of a GT1...:D
