I have just finished making arrangements for obtaining a copy of V8Challenge!
If any of you kind Aussies have any tips for a yank that's not too well-versed in the whole V8 racing series from down under, I'd be most appreciative.
What's the dominant make of car?
What's the underdog make of car?
Who are the top drivers in the series and can I expect to see them in the game?
Is there online play yet?
Anything else you all could tell me would be great!

1) Holden are ontop of teh championship and ford have not won a race yet this season
2) Obviously Ford but the two car makes have no advantage over eachother in the game
3) The top driver in the championship is Mark Skaife and he drives for HRT (holden racing team) his team-mate Jason Bright is also a quite talented young driver. both drivers and HRT are in the game.
The best Ford driver (in the championship leaderboard) is Marcus Ambrose who drives for SBR (stone brotehrs racing). His team are not in teh game but you can find a skin for their team on a respectable V8C skin site.
4) yes online play is up and is a hell of alot of fun
theres not much i can tell you other than dont visit the official forum as it is a total joke (EA sports australia has not commented on addons, patches, anything for 2 odd months) and the place should be called slur city as everyone who posts just slams EA aus.

I doubt I'll be kicking anyone's ass for a while, monaro :rolleyes: .
Thanks a bunch for the info - more questions will arise when I actually receive the CD I'm sure :D

hey thats great that you are getting a copy. I reckon its still a good game.
As for the marcus ambrose skin I have a fairly good and detailed one that I use. Of course I cant put it on my site due to me not being the author, but I can send it to you

You Should have pointed him to Aussie Muscle, my v8challenge page isn't big (but its getting there), but its got a lot of good skins. Get the big names that are not in the game, like DJR, Lowndes, ambrose, besnard, steve ellery and the V8 Brutes series (utes are included but with no sponsors). ^_^

BTW Kev's Havoline Ford is the best detailed V8C car I have seen!! Definately get that.
