I am new at this so please help :help: Alrik 01-19-2002, 11:33 AM To play Porsche online all you have to do is go into the game, click multiplayer game, click internet games and then wait for it to connect, or possibly for the autoupdater to run. If you haven't done it beforehand you also need to sign up for a racing account at earacing.com. If i am not mistaken you can get there from the game if you choose to sign up, if not go here (http://www.earacing.com/Account.phtml) and sign up and activate porsche unleashed. Write down your username and password cause you will need it in porsche unleashed to get online. Once online you can choose between 3 different servers, i would suggest the bussiest one since there are more ppl there to help you out further. There is a button after you chose "Internet" from the "Multiplayer" menu that allows you to create an account at EA Racing. The other thing, is that if you have a dial-up internet provider, the game will not start the dial-up automatically like Netscape and Internet Explorer do. You have to launch the dialer and connect to the internet before you select the internet option within the game. I have registred at EA-racing MATT 01-20-2002, 09:48 AM Open up something like My Computer or Windows explorer. Put in your NFS5 CD into the CD-ROM drive and then click on the CD-ROM in Explorer/My Computer. Click on the Setup folder, then click on the EAUpdate folder. Find setup.exe and double click on it. This should run the installation program to install the EAUpdater (it SHOULD have installed when you originally installed the game, though...) If it still doesn't work, then backup your savegame folder and reinstall the whole game and make sure that the install program does the EA Auto Patcher after it installs the game (it should ask you if you want to install it or something after the game is finished installing...) Everything you need should be on the original CD that came with your game package. Would you please describe the problem from the beginning? Where did you purchase your copy of PU? Did you plug the little wire in the back of..... just kidding... Is your copy of the game and actual EA package? or a copy of some sort? or a "no CD hack" version? or what. I'm afraid more specifics may be necessary. System spec's ISP specs What more can you tell us of your specific situation? I would love to help... this is a great game. Where did you purchase your copy of PU? Do you guys got Wal-mart? :D |
