Above: New Honda NSX, in early morning. This photo shows all the changes perfectly. (Also shows how good my scanner is at getting the colours correct).
So, what are your thoughts on the newest Honda NSX? (By the way, note that the one above is right hand drive, and in NSW.) -^
Personally, I didn't like the updated NSX at first, with fixed headlights (liked the old pop-up units better), but, there is no argueing with NSX's performance potential. It's now good for 290km/hr, right on par with the 360 Modena, and nearly as good as the 911 Turbo.
And it seems that NSX regains the handling benchmarks that some of its rivals had taken previously. Larger diameter wheels, lower profile, wider tyres, and suspension changes make the difference. If NSX has outrageous cornering abilities before, then, it's definately even better now. Much faster, and even better balanced.
The engine is still a delight (the most melodious, symphonic V6 engine you'll ever find). It still has 216kW@7100rpm, and 290Nm@5300rpm, but, its super smooth, super refined, and sounds great. (I dare you not to run it to the 8100rpm limiter).
Drivers cars (that is, cars for real drivers, who enjoy winding, twisting roads, with some straights in between) don't come much better than this.. So, despite being more than 11 years old, NSX can still teach its rivals plenty of lessons. :)
