Well I suppose that after converting those replays to AVI you should convert them too to MPG, to make them shorter in size for d/l or u/l on internet, isnt it?

Yes Carlos,
We were thining of that,But my friend found it a little hard to convert them,He says its confusing&( .So we may need to find another way to convert them,If there are any other softwares availeble to convert to AVI than to MPEG.

Hey Mark,
Unfortunately the only way to create AVI's in NFS is to either string together screenshots, or to use some video capture card. Someone should be able to point you to how to do the screenshot method, I don't know myself.

thanks for telling me. On the official NFS site you can download mpeg movies from the game. So i thought i could do it also

You can but there is no simple method right now to do so. :)

Markos, should you want to give it a try, the 'screenshot' technique is done with the tool Screen Recorder by Klaus Heyne: http://www.heyne-multimedia.de/nfs/
Klause suggests using Quicktime Pro to turn the screenshot sequence into a movie, but I'd rather recommend the tool Videomach from http://www.gromada.com/ - very versatile, and completely free! -^

hi Markos,
when I tried screenrecorder first I had a lot of screens going 'wrong' on me too: the cars would show up see-through, or without wheels.... sometimes 1 out of 4 looked like that.
Back then, I had a nvidia tnt2 videocard and 64 ram. Klaus himself suggested that I lower the refresh rate of my monitor while recording, and that did help a little bit. But when I upgraded to a Geforce 256 ddr and added some more ram, my problems were gone.
About Quicktime, it doesn't have any video editing tools unless you upgrade to the full version - are you sure you have QT Pro?
upgrading to Pro can be done here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ but it's not free. $$)
Anyway, if I remember well, turning a string of images into a QT movie was as easy as going to the Edit mneu, and click the tool Open Image Sequence... 'then you have to point it to the folder where you stored your screengrabs. From then on, you'll get several options to play with such as output resolution, image quality, framerate, codecs, etc... it takes a bit of experimenting to create something you'll like. ;)
About Videomach, do you mean that you couldn't download it? I just did it again to try and noticed that it was going surprisingly slow towards the end... the last 5 % took as long as the rest of the file. On cable.
Still, I got it, so if downloading was the problem, I can mail it to you (1,5 mb) or put it on the server here for you.
If you did get it, but installing somehow went wrong, then I'm afraid I have no idea. :( I would still give it another try then, I personally like it better than QT.
hope that's any help, good luck.

Bit of a late response here, but you're welcome... sorry about the install probs of Videomach (I just downloaded it again, installed -on XP- and it runs, so I have no idea, sorry) but QT should be good too. Hope you can show us something soon.
To get an idea, here is an NFS4 clip I recorded with the above mentioned approach:
http://www.totalnfs.net/Remko/SupraRZ-sound3.wmv (40 seconds, about 3 mb)

I downloaded your clip and it looks really good. I am still trying to make a clip, but it still didn't worked i have also problems with my pc. he cannot handle al the screens very well... how large was a screen of yours? and how many screens did you used for this clip?
I will try to download your program again.... When i have made a clip i will defenatly make it public

Thanks, Mark. :) I added the music to it with Videomach, I don't remember if QT has that option too... to confuse things even further, I used yet another program, :D namely Windows Media Encoder (by Microsoft) to turn it into a streaming .WMV file.
What I did to make the recording to go easier on my system, was turn down the refresh rate like I suggested above (in my case down to 60 mhz... it's ugly to look at, but only for the duration of the replay, you can turn it back up when you'de done sceencapturing). I also shrunk the display in NFS4 to 640 x 480 in 16 bit, because I planned the final clip to be a lot smaller, so you wouldn't really need the detail you'd see in higer resolutions anyway. And these TGA's take up 600 kb each on your harddrive, a lot less than 1 mb or more for 1024 + resolutions. But you'll still need a lot of hdd space, or you risk of getting the recording interrupted by a "Harddrive getting full" message. ;)
I also made sure to record 4 screens a second at 1/4 speed, but I think Klaus already pointed that out in his instructions. Again, good luck.
