I think its been a while since you've done anything on v8shakes, cause it's still says 'release in two weeks' on the main page.

View Full Version : Time to update v8shakes, mate Aussie Muscle 06-08-2002, 04:24 PM I think its been a while since you've done anything on v8shakes, cause it's still says 'release in two weeks' on the main page. AccadaccA 06-09-2002, 01:34 AM True it is long overdue for an update and I was planning a face lift to load faster for dial ups but my FTP program had some serious probs which also put the Total NFS update on hold. Then I've had the struggle of getting a steering wheel operating properly then that was interupted by the new mobo and all the probs that followed that. A format was also thrown in for good measure and I am fighting the detection of two monitors on this system. I didn't really want to take on the upkeep of another site (V8SHAKES) and thought I had lined it up with Damian to help out but I have lost contact with him. And somehow I thought to take it upon myself to make another site for the "Total Kaos" V8Chal team. :D I'll get there. I just need to put my projects into a priority list as I promised the GT Mod a few tracks way back before I released the Performance Center. Which was the first track I was making for them before I experimented on the quarter mile timer / lap counter. Well I've started the GT Mod track from scratch again and should have that done soon and onto the setback of MaxOver for the Aussie Mod. I also put STCC cars into V8Challenge and wanted to tidy them up before uploading to and updating V8SHAKES. But like I said, I'll get there ;) Y2kGoofball 06-09-2002, 06:00 AM Acca ... not much but if your struggling to upkeep V8 Shakes I am more than happy to pitch in and patch up the probs. I dont mean over rule the site, but fix up the little things like release date and maybe some thoughts on the game or something. I know what its like to have 000's of things to do at once. The offers there if you ever need it Y2k BTW ... I'm slowly learning some html so I have some idea of how websites work)=) Aussie Muscle 06-10-2002, 04:19 PM Maybe if v8shakes had a full time administrator it may stay alive longer. (ie keep interest). I've put a single page v8challenge to post my skins, but they should've really been on v8shakes. What is needed is a file upload, maybe it could tie in with the Racerplanet forum (eg username and password) so that anyone who has registered can upload a skin, like what VSS (http://www.vss.co.nz/v8challenge/) have done. Y2kGoofball 06-10-2002, 05:23 PM Yeah thats a good idea, I reckon have a full time administrator to oversee the running of V8 shakes, and definately yes some sort of upload feature. Y2k |
