Online-- still no joy...anytips.

Still no joy with online racing. I tried a few different ways.

1) Start\Programs\EA Sports\V8 Challenge\Lobby…. I get the lobby screen up and then click on server I have entered,Then on the right side are the games that are running.. I select one and click on the enter race button… The mouse locks up and the PC sort of hangs.. The screen goes black then after I thump the keyboard a few times I get the blue screen saying the PC has become unstable..Hit any key to return and wait or Ctrl Alt and Del to restart windows…. I thump the keyboard a few more times look for the “ANY” key and nothing happens, finally I have to hit the reset button

2) I enter the game and hit the multi Player option in the game, the game closes and the lobby screen is shown I do the same as above and have the same results.

3) I take out the V8 CD after trying to get online 4 time and 4 resets. I throw the CD across the room like a Frisbee then put the PU CD in the PC and Play PU online… Happy Dogz

I can believe I bought another EA game after the trouble with the PU servers and cheats and MCO beta testing that was a waste of time…. EA kiss my Ass..

Anyone want to buy V8 challenge ..Still have the box and instructions and the CD has only been thrown across the room 3 times… you pay for shipping and 25 bucks Aussie and it is yours…

Sorry to hear about your problems Mark. Have you tried re-installing it, as it may have one or two corrupt files from the original installation.

I had some problems racing online initially, but that was due to me using the No CD hack. Once I grabbed fresh exe files off the CD to replace the ones installed, I had no problems.

What I did was cut and pasted the exe files from the main V8 directory (all 3 of them) and put them in another folder. Then I copied and pasted the 3 exe files off the CD and it worked perfectly.

I got the No CD crack from a link posted on the EA forums hehe :D

Sure saves wear and tear on the old CD.

I can't remember what the thread was called, but I'm pretty sure the link was to Game Copy World. If you know the site, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding the file :)
