We are reverting back to our usual format for Mosport. Heats will be 15 and 30 laps.

I have just finished running a 15 lap test in the Vintage GTO. I was easliy able to do 15 laps with 20 gallons of fuel. The tires were in good shape at the end. I was easily able to complete more than 2 full laps after getting the low fuel warning.

Fast laps will be under 1:10, with GTQ probably being about 2 or 3 seconds slower.

I used the GTO setup for Monaco with only a taller final drive and
more fuel. The handling of the car was the best it has ever been. I'm still learning about setups and preparing for Monaco taught me a lot.

To assist in learning the track, I've created a hotlap to be found in the SNR files section under Hotlap VCR replays. Yes, I realize that you already know Mosport, but you still have to learn the car as well as refresh your memory for the track.

As you will see, I made several mistakes during the lap, but was
still able to post a low 1:09. This hotlap is intended only to show
what is possible in the GTO. And, perhaps, some mistakes not to make. The right hand corner where I went over the curb (before the hair pin) is not a mistake. Doug has confirmed that going over the curb there is actually used at Mosport (the real Mosport) and it is the fastest way through that corner.

I expect to improve as the week goes on. Perhaps Doug will post a lap to show the best lines?

Hi Chef! Yes its a great game!
C'mon over to SNR and get your feet wet racing on line!

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/saturdayniteracing/

In the preamble up top at SNR, just click on the link right after
" Friday VINTAGE racing too!"

All the information, car links, game setup options etc. are there.

There are two sources for Vintage cars, get 'em all.

Note that all the cars you need from the GPLEA site are also in the SNR files section - get them there (because the GPLEA site had/has problems), however you still need to go to the JPS site and get the cars mentioned.

Its super easy to race Saturday night too, as we run the same track as Friday and all the cars are in the original game (GTQ cars with all parts mods purchased).

CU in the pits (I'm away this coming weekend myself)

Start my using soft tires, maximum pressure, low downforce, and make the springs and shocks a bit stiffer in the rear than the front. Play with the gear ratios so they are spaced evenly apart + top gear gives you the best speed.
From there, it takes lots of practice and seeing what changes suit your driving style. No two car setups are the same between different drivers.

Already answered this in my post above.

Welcome to SCGT chef, we're always glad see new ppl get interested. You need Yahoop messenger to get the most out of SCGT. Alot of ppl play online but it's hard to find them at first. Once you have a few friends on your list it's easy to find a fellow racer tho. My Yahoop handle is spede_demn, if I'm lookin for someone to practice with I open Yahoop.

Doug put those cars under files at S.N.R. , Legends is under constuction right now. Also for saturdays GTQ racing you need a thing called AOE(advanced options editor) it should in files too I think, or "the PITS". Let me know if you can't find it and I'll upload it.

There's also an install guide in our files, we highly recommend starting from scratch and installing things in order "without" running the game until your done. It avoids a few common probs ppl have had in the past.
