Matt ... quite right but I know someone.

I think he had some ideas before the game was released.

If I find his email again I'll email him and find out.

Yeah, i just played it, it was good fun at first being able to use aussie cars and all, but, when you hold it up against games like colin mcrae 2 it looks really dated, there should be more realistic car damage (ie bumbers fall off etc). And being able to edit the car skins is cool, but it would be alot better if you were able to actually edit the mesh of the cars too.

Oh well, its ok fun and hopefully EA decide to update it every year like there other games (maybe by V8 2005 we will have something really good)

Yeah, EA would be able to do a better job but everyone is putting it down.

I'm sure with enough support they could make a series like NFS, where there just about to release number what, 6??

My thoughts tho,

I dont know who is saying it's bad, i think its a great game. sure there are things that could've been better (like pitstops) but for a v8 supercar game it'll be hard to beat, since most games are not specifically written for v8supercars, they will always have 'foreign tracks' and other hang-ups from it's base game. the v8 tag is just to boost local sales, which i 'spose is all they really care about.

against games like colin mcrae 2 it looks really dated -

- looks really dated? i think cmr2 looks dated, not the other way around. v8c has better looking enviro mapping and sharper textures (considering it's 512x256 size). cmr2 looked the same on my 450mhz system as it does on 800mhz (even the frame rate). I think it's time for cmr3.

finally, if editing was possible today, how many monaro coupe rip offs would there be? i mean there are already 6-8 skins on vss site for monaros (even though they looks stupid).

Umm, yeah I'd have to go with Kev there.

I do love v8 challenge. Forget whats missing and enjoy the game. Thats the best way to go.

The only way you are going to get a game with 100 % all tracks and excellent tetxured tracks is an offical game like the Codemasters one (licensed by Avesco)

Plus that game will have some other tracks too I think.

At leats us guys here arent jerks like at the EA forum. Matt knows what i'm on about ^_^

Don't get me wrong i just thought that it could be better.

Also it should have been made by an australian game dev company (since there are so many of us these days)

yeah certainly is time for a cmr2.

If you like colin's rally, you might want to check out Rally Trophy.
i just got it and at first i was a bit (yawn, ho-hum) , but after getting the hang of it, the game has that warm spaghetti feeling (you know it's good, but not because it's the best).
You've probably driven the Escort in CMR2, and if you wanted more 'classic' european, this has only olde' cars. (think minis and cortina's)

minis, the world needs more minis

cool, yeah i think i read a review on it, they said it was pretty good. will have to keep my eye out for it
