Kreigspel let me use his 917K as a base to build other 917's to show that not all 917's were Gulf cars (though they look cleaner that way) I've added 3D exhaust pipes, and they look sweet. Next I'll be doing 3D wheels, engine, engine fan, and other minor 3D details. I'm not new to NFS car editing, but I am as far as adding 3D parts to a car. It's already been textured and everything. The pipes are solid white, so that means they have no texture on them. How do you assign materials (like chrome) to 3D parts? Is there a program that specifically does that (as opposed to using Zmodeler or CarCad) Any suggestions or methods will be useful.

 I'm kinda new to it and may do stuff the hard way, but here's what I do:

Is CarCAD mostly to edit cars. When I add 3D parts from MTM to cars I'm working on, I usually have to make the UV vertices' size smaller (the part will cover the whole Texture and be all colors if I didn't). I make it smaller and use what I have, but you can just find some chrome texture and add it to a blank space on your Car's Texture with Paint Shop Pro. Once you have made the UV size of the part smaller and added Chrome to your Texture, just move the part over to the chrome.

Now some 3D parts will have all the Vertices for the UV all together on top of each other and to me is too hard to fix unless each part that's a different color is separate (like a tire and rim). Then I can't help you there.

Hope that kinda helped you move forward a little to answer your question. :read:
