Not a lot of aussie tracks for an "aussie" game

I hope its only a matter of time before someone decides to figure a way to edit the tracks.

I think the first non-aussie track in the list 'Gellerasen' whatever its called, looks a bit like a reversed 'Hidden Valley'. (reverse the direction, change a few textures and you have the hottest race in australia (hot - meaning literally).

Good to see a few guys are trying their hands at reskinning some cars.

It would undoubtly be because of track officials not consenting to giving E.A.SPORTS the rights.

I would love to race the Phillip Island circuit. Just that and Bathurst would suit me fine.
For the moment I am happy with the Holdens/Fords and sedans/utes as it is a specificly made Aussie V8Supercars game but for that same reason the tracks should include only Aussie tracks raced on by Aussie V8 Supercar.... all of them.

Unfortunately the car and tracks of the game have been made in such a way I doubt we can add to them. Editing skins is one thing but that soon gets dull if we can't add to the car list like we do in HS. Even if we workout a way to edit tracks or car meshes they wouldn't show up in the menus anyway. In comparisment, NFS 3 and HS were virtually made with user-made edits in mind were as Dice failed to do the same.
This should have been left open for either us editors or E.A. or even Dice themselves to patch (at a later date) if they were in such a hurry to release it.

Kev - It's that Mod something track ... all I remember is that it ends with Long. I think that looks a bit like Hidden Valley.

Plus the irony in it - "Hidden", get it? Hidden track / Hidden Valley :o

But I do like the drag strip in it :HB: Sorta like Acca's performance center!! Just a shame it cant be edited to acctualy record times from start to finish or something. Oh well.

And yeah - it wouldnt show up in the menu. Not even new skin textures shows up :confused:

Anyway, they obviously wanted us to only be able to edit the skins and thats it.

After the long life that HS has had, you would think most companies would allow lots of user made stuff to be added.

I could be wrong, but i think Kinnekulle was originally supposed to be (kinda similar layout to) phillip island (long fast curvey track). the most obvious is Knutstorp is probably Oran Park without the bridge/loop section, certainly the other parts of the track have a similar layout.

The non-Aussie tracks are Swedish tracks straight out of STCC :(

Any resemblance to Aussie tracks is purely coincidental.

Realli - the tracks are straight out of the sweedish game. I thought a few of them looked farmilliar aus tracks. Oh well.

As for the skins I'm slowly making progress. Just need so,e quality time.

I wouldn't doubt it Kev, but I still lean towards the reason being lack of assistance/permission from track officials. Same with the high profile racers that aren't featured in this game. Before anyone else thinks of DJ's atrocious blunder of a game, no it is not a case of because they were in DJ V8Chal that they can't be in E.A.'s V8Chal as the K-mart Commodores feature in both games.

However we'll never know for sure as all we are fed are rumors so we can only go by our own opinions.

What about the fact its only a $70dollar game? maybe if it was $100 (like most new games) l would expect a few more tracks/car teams.

And EAsports is normally lazy in their games, except NHL and Fifa;)

i read the requests on vss.co.nz/v8challenge and surely enough he requested a QLD stae of origin car.

i dont think that STCC2 tracks have been edited yet, and which program he used he must've made himslef as nothing supports STCC .??? files.
if this guy really did make these tracks (well) in this amount of time, he is an absoloute legend. If he didn't and he jsut wants someone to make him a queensland state of origin car, i will ram my size 11 blundstone up his ....

me & y2k was just reading that thread in the V8C forums, very interesting. I think if he did make the tracks they'd have 2 be good as the swedish tracks aren't bad:D


BTW, the guy named 'brenz' who posted that thred is also involved in making Rugby 2001(union) into a League game.........
