l was just visiting the EAsports V8C forum.

and alot of them hate the game, or not HATE but 'dislike' v8c.

its strange, most of you guys love the game, is it that they are expecting to much? (from a australian publisher), or u guys are more easy going with games?

l also found this link(while browing ea forums;) ).

i hate people like that in the forums, all they do is bag the game or ask for a patch.

i'd like to see them make a game as good and highly detailed as V8 challenge.

as for that review, that bloke has got no idea!!

he says that the sounds are the best bit when they got 4/10 and he say graphics are crap and they got 6/10!

i'm telling you, these graphics are so perfect i cant pick anything wrong at all. at times i just want to roll up to a wall and see all the different faces in the crowd (once i saw this fat guy with huge headphones on!^_^(spose you had to be there...))

audio is really good, crackling when backfiring is the best and very high revs (when doing helis and burnouts) really sucks

and yeh, he has got a point, when you fire up the game and it goes to the autoplay menu, it does play rally sounds (hard to tell from the untrained ear) and the menu music is really bad (like eighties techno crap)

but he gave the game 7/20!!!! what an idiot, this game has the best realism, best graphics, best playability everything. how can he give it below 50% <some people....

all up, if you are having second thoughts on buying it, DON'T!!
its the most fun you can have with you hand out of your pants. but the then again, those graphics are looking pretty sexy today...................... ^_^

I don't usually review games, but I believe that people should've been more informed about this one, so please bare with me.
Ahuh, at least he has left the gate wide opened there so we can't really lynch him. in fact, the game is basically a collection of "Recycled"components from previous games that were developed by Digital Illusions. As for being rehashed from other DICE (Digital illusions) games I would not know personally as I don't have another game by them so to me it does not matter but some have said this about it before so I would have to agree with him on their say so. it seems like you're shifting the car at the exact same RPM every time, Well I don't know at which revs he changes gears at but as a general rule of thumb folks tend to change at the precise RPM through each gear. Gameplay (3/10) ... while it is not entirely bad, it needs improvement If he wanted to sit on the fence and confuse people he certainly clinched it there. If it isn't all that bad why only give it a 3/10? If he thinks it honestly deserves a 3/10 why say it isn't all that bad? &(

Well you've seen screenshots, what do YOU think of the graphics? Would you agree with his 6/10? Better? Worse?

It may not be the racing game to kill all others but for $70 I am happy with it. I have added my negative views to the official V8Challeneg site's forum but I think I have also covered them all here as well.

Gameplay
The AI's are not humans and we can't really expect them to be. I think it good that they sometimes err too. For what I have played of the game so far I can't recall two of the exact same incidents where you know (for example) Perkins is going to crash with Kelly.
Reset the race and you might get the same sort of pile up, sure, but not neccessarily the same cars spin-out or recover the same next time 'round.
I love to gripe about the black flag "rule" function but it is an option in the menu. But those of you who already have a Dice game should know this by now shouldn't they?
Last night I had several races with it on and it actually slipped my attention until it finally rared it's ugly head after I had tapped into another. Mind you that car was only in front because it had spun my car around a few turns earlier. I had hit other cars in races previous to that one so I don't think it is very consistant. Then again what "rule" is consistant in V8 Supercar racing?
Save the frustration and turn it off.
I have also noticed that for example say you qualified into pole position with a 2:08:34 (just plucked that figure from my arse) in one race. The next race's qualifying run you might get the exact time but be placed 5th in the grid. As all of the others qualifying times change too. I think that is great. More realistic than the NASCAR games I have in that sence.

Audio
I wouldn't complain one bit about the sound except it does break when over revved. If you are that hopeless at gear changing then drive a freakin' auto.
It sounds close to a v8 to me and the crackling backfire when you backdown through the gears puts the gleam in my eyes.

Graphics
Again I'll admit they probably aren't the very best around but they are more than pleasing to me at speeds up to 300+km/h
The screenshots could have been made to a larger resolution and still look appealing. However E.A. in general, seem to hold back somewhat in reserve. I bet those who have slower systems appreciate this fact.

Menus
Who give a flying f#@k? I bought the game to race Aussie V8 Supercars on Aussie race circuits, not to nit-pick that the menu is a carbon copy of this or that game.

Car Setups
Well if I said anything bad here (meaning about car setups in any Racerplanet forum) I will correct myself now.
They make a hell of a difference.
I did some further tweaking tonight and knocked big times off my personal best.

Final conclusion. Well only YOU know if YOU would like this game.
Personally I don't buy many racing games per year. The newest (release date) would probably be PU. I will probably get shot down in flames here but I would rank it as the Aussie version of PU. Fair enough, it may not have a game engine of a "sim" but I have played both of these games and that's the closest I have to compare V8Challenge with.
Those who have played just about every racing game will definately not agree with me as this game has this part better or that game has a better that, but I'm telling it as a common Aussie, not a wealthy tycoon or paid reviewer.
The first hour or so of PU I screwed my nose up at the BS handling. But the car setup is a very important part of that game, just like it is for V8Challenge.

If you are still unsure try to play a mate's copy or go to the PC games shops and thrash it out on their equipment.

Man - I have found no problem with the game at all, and I am running it at even under required specs.

but yes you are right Matt, everyone there is carrying on.

Just get over it and enjoy the fact that there is a real V8 game out now for us. If you have to carry on about a game go pick on DJV8 Challenge, theres not even bloody damage.
