What up everyone ,I hope someone can help me ,I got a copy of porsche unleashed recently (yahhhh yahh I know behind the times) it worked fine on my old comp ,I put in a new MOBO a week ago and now it wont work ,I put in the disk and launch the game it gets to the first splash screen and then nothing ,I press control alt delete and the message said porsche not responding .I am baffaled ,presently waiting responce from EA ,but you know how that is ,anyone experence this problem before ,any ideas I appriciate your help ,PEACE:help:

some more information may be helpful to those trying to help you out here , such as the type of mb and vid card ( usually thats the two most important ) and including your operating system never hurts either . hopefully , if you list the above someone may have an answer to your dilema .

excuse me I am in a jones to play this game so gray matter not really clicking OK here goes ----AMD xp 1800 0n a ASUS a77 266c MOBO with a PNY Gforce 3 Ti200 vidcard and 300+ megs of ram .........(man i got my fingers eyes ears and everything else crossed hoping that some can help ) PEACE^_^

Sounds to me that your running NT or Win2000 or Windows XP if so thing are a lot harder and I don't know how to fix. If your running windows98 It should be fine

Did you re-install the game or just use the original installation?

If it is the old installation, you need to backup your Savedata folder and then do a CLEAN installation. That means getting rid of all traces of the old installation - including the registry entires.

well I uninstalled it frist then rebooted and installed again but I dont think I got into the registry , where in there would I look ,I here so many horror stories about people tinkering with the reg.......:confused:

If you haven't had any experience editing your Registry, I advise against starting now. It's just that whenever I uninstall any of EA's games I go and purge all traces from the registry - just to make sure.

There are some utilities like RegClean that will do a pretty good job of getting rid of registry entries that are no longer needed, so that might be a good option for you. Just run it after you do the uninstallation. You can find it at most freeware/shareware sites like Download.com.
