Hey Boss,

Hmm...i'm not sure weather anyone has made any "other" cars for GPL,to my knowledge at least.I think it is a good idea. And GPL is easily editable.Well, thats all i know.I hope the other guys could shed some light on the subject;) .

Yours,
Ashwin

some of the gpl models have had there 3dos redone
I am not sure if you can get away from a certain
cigar shape of the original gpls cars though.
there is potential to recreate the feel of alot of street cars useing the gem+ utility
i have a certain honda set up
: full fuel 1700 lbs
4 speeds 85 horsepower
f2 chassis
that feels almost identical to my street car.
on the beta to thunderhil track i was able to
get a good feel for relitive speeds and grip levels
after driving the track in my street car
i tuned the chassis untill.
the acceleration/speeds on the turns and straights.
combined with level of agressiveness of driving .
factored by the grip level and tire noise levels matched my real life experiences and track times :)
to get an aussie street car you would need to add a bit of grip for slicks and dry hot weather say an f1 chassis
and about a bit more power then my car for a mellow 180 hp at crank engine use the 100 hp f3 moter
for a more radical 300 hp at crank moter use the f2 engine at 200 hp

between the 3 grip levels x7 chassis combined with endless tweaking possibilitys in car set up you should be able to simulate anything from a mini cooper/yugo to a pantera /cobra with some success

useing the honda chassis
f3 typical good shape street car on street tires datsun 510 240 z etc etc
f2 semi/race tuned suspension on street tires damp cold track
f1 slicks semi warm track full race suspension
additionally there are 4 power levels i know of
85 hp 2.0 street
100 hp 2.0 race
200 hp 2.5 race
360 + hp 3.0 race

useing some of the utilities available could provide you with a bumper cam type view or almost any position for your drivers head you desired
additionally any track you would like to simulate could be made with the track editors available at gplea.org
as a bonus there is a team already working on the austrailian
tracks and bathurst and adalade <-spelling ? already exist

have fun :)

You could make an Australian car but the shape will provide you with never ending clipping(parts disappearing).
Bruce Johnson who made and helping us build the latest Lotus49 has tried and made a full body shaped car but as I quoted there's to much clipping and he never released it for that fact.

To see the latest Lotus49 check out the URL in my signature.
It has the latest Mod's done to it and will be released soon.
As you may have guessed I'm a 3D Editor and working with .3do's is a brain strain sometimes.:)

If you want to edit .3do's I surgest you first try David Noonan's 3DEdit program,it doesn't do much but if you just want to try re-shapeing the body it's the best tool for the job.

If your advanced then I would surgest you use Phil Flack/Paul Hoad's GPLEditor,it hard to use but it can do virtualy everything you want it too.

Also if you want to find the latest tools, editors, tracks and cars I would try this site out ; http://gplpp.com
It's called GPL++The Add Ons,you most likely know of it already.
Truely the best GPL site ever and that's a fact.

Later...
