Definately more on cars. One thing to consider is that you don't need to fuel up your PC every week...

Lol, funny topic...If you saw my computer, you'd realise its not worth spending money on....Then, if you saw my car, you'd wonder why I pay to put petrol in it....However, via $60/month internet, $40/week petrol, the car wins most of my budget hands down...Now if you'd asked me about 'something else'...

I spent probably about about $6,900 on computer hardware last year through the present. I spent about $38,000 on automobiles last year through present. I go through rear tires about every two months and fronts from three to four months. Nothing wrong with my alignment, but I just drive hard ;) Whenever I take my car out for a significant drive I usually burn several tanks of gas (21 Gallon [US] tank) because I'm on the boost as much as possible. When shopping or doing chores, I usually borrow a housemate's car or SUV (okay, yes, I actually drive an SUV, now quiet down). My car insurance is rather high, but not burdensome. Sports car insurance is always bad, but being female does have its advantages ^_^.

EDIT: So, what? That's a ratio of about 5/1 cars versus computers? That would be 20% on computers then. Oh, this will be embarassing if my math is off! ^_^ I'll vote for 20% then.

I don't own a car, so 100% $$$ goes to my PC. So now I have a 19in monitor:D

Nullifier: I am in the Marda Loop area, around the Childrens Hospital. Race City opens this weekend, although I figure it will be too wet for the jet cars and the events might be rescheduled, dunno.

Chey: Yeah, sports car insurance is a real drag (no pun intended). It's almost worth lying to the insurance company and telling them I have a 305 rather than a 406 in the car. What is totally unfair is that my ex is a cops daughter, and this, combined with the fact that she's female, entitles her to rediculously low insurance rates, even on the new Rustang!

well I couldnt afford either... my PC is rather slow... needs a new one bad... and i need a car to get about... problem is i dont earn enough....

NZ pays real sh1t...

i get $8.16 an hour slaving my ass off... $8 may sound kinda bad.. then i tell you it in US$.....= exactly $3.50 an hour....
im sure all of u earn 50 times that...

anyway, im probably the best employer out of all the staff, and they want to make me a shift supervisor.. wowwwww.. i'll get an extra $1US an hour.. ^_^

so then I realised, i can only get real money in a real company or something..

my mums been hassling me... she even rang up my Uni to see what the hell is going on.. lol... well i was having lots of troubles... the government wasnt paying my loan to the Uni, and they were all on my back... so i quit... and still owe $2000 from just doing 6 weeks... and now my Uni says the debt collectors will be on my ass, and this big company "baycorp" will be after me soon... my dad said if that happens, i will never get any loans.. car loans.. visas... nothing.... =((

so anyway, im probably going back to Uni starting July 15th/22nd and they may be able to carry the money over .... so i dont have to pay it twice...

the main problem was the government is SLOW.. they say it takes 2-3 weeks max to process a loan application.. well it was 7 weeks and counting when i quit.. well 3 days later, i received a letter from them, saying i can no longer have a loan coz i a no longer at uni.. even though i owe all that money still... its typical of the government..... the instant they find out i leave, they get onto it.. i would have never had this problem, had they done it quickly......

also the same with tax.... 3 years ago at another job, i get all my tax back... the 19.5% of all i earned.. only coz i earned under $7500 in that year.. anyway, it took them 6 months to pay me only $150.... yet when you owe them tax, they want it immediately, or you will get fines...
screw the government...

::? :rolleyes: :mad:

oh yah, if i did have LOTS of money... im guessing i would by a $5000 PC, and a $20,000 car... so thats around 20% on a PC out of all "my" money... assuming i could ever earn that much

"i put about 79% of my cash into my Yamaha R1"

You lucky person, to have such a wildly fast bike like that..

I put so far about 60% into the computer, software, and so on.. And also learning, too.. Since I've got to keep learning all the new multimedia/DTP software when it comes out.. I only take interest in the big new developments, not these 0.5 updates which don't really improve anything massively (yet have a massive price increase)..

Slid3r: :) LOL jtace nice 1 with the socker mom thing LMAOROTF! sry Cheyenne. Do u ever go off roading?Ooh! I knew I was going to regret admitting that! On the road, where I live, there are maybe twenty-plus residences. Everyone has at least one pickup, many have lots more than one. We're the only ones on the street without one. I just borrow my housemates SUV to do major shopping or other types of cargo runs. I do have a really well secured cargo net in the back of my car, but I just can't resist acclerating, cornering or braking hard ^_^ whenever I drive it.

Offroading? Well, not intentionally! Uh, earlier this year I did put a boyfriend's brand new BMW off the road, between two trees, through some really tough foliage and partially into a creek. The car was remarkably undamaged by the "event". But in going "into" the brush and small trees they all bent away from the direction of "travel". When the two tow trucks showed up to get the car back "out" of that, they did an awful lot of damage pulling it back through the small trees and brush. Ouch! I have to admit that I largely blame the active stability system on the car for this. I did enter the turn a bit too fast, but I stabbed the brakes to weight shift to the front wheels and reduce the understeer, then I tried to kick out the tail a bit with lifting-throttle oversteer, which was working, pointing me tighter into the turn, then the large orange light in the center of the instrument cluster comes on, indicating the stability system was kicking in. What that does is apply brakes to the inside rear wheel, which "straightens" out the car's path of travel (basically taking control away from the driver. I think one of the first things my mother did when she brought hers home was to disable the stability system) - exactly what I didn't want to do. Then the little offroading incident. (at least this is my story... if anyone askes ^_^ )

Commander: ...my ex is a cops daughter, and this, combined with the fact that she's female, entitles her to rediculously low insurance rates...Being the offspring of a cop gets her lower insurance? I need to get my dad to change careers! ^_^

i now have reason to not let my GF drive my car when i get it in about 3 years! In aus we can only drive once were 18 so at about 17 i'll et my car and have a stedy income over when i first start later this year at 15 and I'll prolly have a good comp by then like a 3.5ghz system and 21' screen and 256mb video card and stuff I won't have 2 spend ne thing on my comp so I'll just spen about 80% on my car on stereo and engine and seats and stuff being a VQ caprice the will have a 5ltr so i can't touch it til I'm off my P's but I will make a monster engine until then and use the stock 5ltr. And none would touch it not even my GF cos i don't trust woman drivers no ofensense to anyone on this baord.
