View Full Version : Starting a "FUN" snap shot picture show

I am starting a Snap Shot picture show. For those of you who don't play nfs pu or for those of you that don't join my pit named "MileHighStunts" or for those of you that play nfs pu and don't know what the fk I am talking about, I will get you up to date.

For the last 7 or 8 days I have started taking pictures in PU (well actually I been doing this since 2000 but not as thoroughly as this). The pictures I have taken are not pictures of my times (on or offline but I have plenty of pictures of that from 2000 to present, most of them great times and some records, whether it be solo, online, or on knockout mode with 6 other AI racers) but are pictures of well the only way to actually descride it is well "FUN". 7 or 8 Days Ago I decided (should have thought of this earlier but didn't, sorry!!!!) to techically screw times (not all the way, not that insane) and have fun. Soon ltrt and [XR]Evo joined in my fun (some of you may think its pointless, crazy, insane, deminted, physchotic etc) starting off with Cote (on the humps kinda near the end on fwds) then moving to alps (kinda near the beginning on bw, kinda hard to say but there are 2 big hills just before the road splits into a detour) then to corsica (on humps before tunnel on fwds, seems to be my best picture area) and finally to Normandie (where there are those big jumps before the little town).

My fun sessions grew from 3 people (including me) to full pits of well known and not so well known racers. Regardless of your opinion (at least an opinion saying contrary to fun) I still like doing it, even after a week. I've become better and better at taking the pictures, I guess from maturity of doing it. So far I have 198 "Fun" pictures and 2 others (not of the same name) that are superb. From what people are telling me, its basically this: Post them on totalnfs and make a new thread dedicated to this. I am.

Cheyenne (aka [XR]Chey) has all my pictures. Since I am not that well computer literate, meaning I don't really know the technical side of it, even compressing files and making them smaller or putting like 50 jpeg files into one zip file to reduce my number of posts (lol) this may be simple to you but I just never really cared or never really asked someone. So with Cheyenne's help she is going to post MY snaps on this thread, hopefully in groups of 50 for you to download and see for yourself what I have been doing for the last week or more. Of course its from MY car and MY perspective they are incredible and who knows from what cheyenne tells me she gots some of her own. (I've seen her "first batch" pretty good -^ go cheyenne)

Sorry for this being so long but I had to explain to you on this because you may be new or are like "where has Radic-Al been or [SK]Rad-Al been doing, obviously not racing"

:D

Hi, Sis!Hi yer Al /Chey how are you getting on with zipping those pics?Er, you would have to bring that up, wouldn't you?

Well, Alex did not know about the upload limit here at TotalNFS when he posted that. I think we are planning to put them up on some free-hosted website. Personally, I have been terribly busy working. Three days solid, and a Friday and a Saturday too. I don't mean to brag, but I'm very seldom "home" on Friday or Saturday nights, and recently, I have been getting over pneumonia and now this! (grrrrrrr) I was invited on a surfing safari this weekend to one of the most beautiful spots on earth too, and had to decline because of my workload. blahblahblah. Anyway, I think the duty falls on me to build a website (which Chris/CPD and others will laugh at, I have "0" web building skills, but will do my amateur-nooB best anyway!). As soon as Alex and I get anything going, we'll post. As soon as I get some free time, I'll try my best to put something together!

pardonnez ma tardiveté, svp!

Si vous avez la difficulté - no speeky the lingee so velly solly!

Regards to you Sis

Oops, I've got over 90 1MB .tga PU screenshots, which I've accumulated from MileHighStunts Al...I should really delete them, my poor little hard drive, is really...little! Before I do, I'll find and conserve the good ones...Pity the detail isn't so good :(

Yahooooo! Stunt time... -^

Chey: Never.. I never make fun of a website of a beginner designer..

I am however harsh on those who are fully qualified designers who charge a fortune and then deliver absolute crap..

Anyhow, HTML pages are quite easy.. Maybe the attached HTML tutorial will help you.. After seeing your post, I decided to write one for you.. I hope it will be useful.. ;)

The HTML tutorial is not for reproduction on other sites however. Just for the use of members of this site..

Oh, Hi, Chris!

Er, I wasn't meaning to suggest you were mean or anything, I was just teasing about that other thread! ^_^ I know you are kind and generous, I remember and locally saved the infos from the other thread on making better web pages and hope I can apply some of that when I get off my posterior and make a page! Thank you very much for the tutorial. I will study and learn. You're absolutely great, Chris! -^

Remember, "CPD Rocks!"

I know sometimes in "text" teasing or humor can get lost. I will attempt to post footnotes or something to attempt to make things a little bit clearer. Hope I didn't cause any bad feelings, Chris! I have a very high opinion of you, always.

Chey: That's okay. I knew you didn't mean anything serious.. Also, check your Private Messages. There is some more info regarding the tutorial I attached above..

Be warned, the tutorial is kind of er, long.. ^_^

Hi, Chris!Chris: Be warned, the tutorial is kind of er, long..Oh, maybe you have "guessed" already, but i'm used to "long" texts! Thank you so much, and for the PM info too. I had "no" clue about the palettes! That's absolutely wonderful. You're awesome, Chris!

Be warned, anyone downloading the HTML tutorial, I made a stuff up on the image code.. It should read this:

<img src="yourimage.jpg"></img>

I accidentally put an extra space in between the src and the equals sign..

Well, I've updated the tutorial now, fixed the mistake.. Now, I think I should add stuff about creating framesets in it.. I think I'll do exactly that.. :)

Chris, I just downloaded the tutorial again, after you said you updated it, but I still find this:<img src ="yourimg.jpg"></img>
<a href ="http://www.yourlinkhere.com"><img src ="yourimg.jpg"></img></a>

Am I understanding something wrong?

"img src ="

I'm still seeing a space there.

EDIT: oops, my bad, i see it now says it's been downloaded "0" times. I must have re-dl'd the original. All is fine now! Thanks again, again, again, Chris! Wonderful stuff! -^

05-19-2002, 06:04 AM
Oh, actually, I didn't stuff up.. I'll just check to see that it's all correct, then, attach it to this post to be certain..^_^..

Okay, download the attachment in my next reply..

05-19-2002, 06:09 AM
Actually, yes I did stuff up.. :slap:

Download this attached version, with all mistakes fixed..

Sorry for inconvenience..

Hey guys, gals

Sorry I (epresses the "I" pretty damn good) couldn't be the one to maket the website but I (same thing as the above parenthsis states) have no internet skills what so ever. But the snaps are piling up which is a good thing. (got 17.7 GB of free space, yey) Most of the snaps that chey will put up on her server/website (errr, going to be a good one no matter on what chey thinks, :)) )are going to be mine and sure, chey can put others, hell that would be cool if we see "others" point of view as well as mine but I guess I would have to be the professional on this subject of taking pictures, grrr, dont' know.

hey (UK)Satan.

That would be truly great, because for one I don't have webspace, and two, I have no internet skills what so ever, especially making a webpage. Cheyenne could but since you are offering a chance for me (FINALLY!!!!!!) to post for all to see my Collection of snap shots which I've recently started, within the last 2 weeks. I started it as a way to have fun and "hang" out with other racers, little did I know that many racers participated and I thank all of them. Thanks Guys, Gals, wouldn't have been possible without your help. (I add a huge thanks to ltrt and [XR]Evo for being the first to do it with me when the concept was pretty new, and stuck with it) Satan, I've got 7.59 Megs of jpeg snap shots or 220 and 2 others without the name Fun preceding them. I can't tell you how many I am going to do, but Its going to be a lot and for right now Endless. :) Thank you for giving me this offer, if I can't post them, Cheyenne can, she has all of them.

you can make a cheap geocities one... and you dont know how to make them... just be able to name them as .txt... and make all the file names maybe just numbers.. like 1, 2, 3.. or a letter and jump... s1, s2, s3.. maybe S for stunt.. makes it easier for when your posting them here, rather then having to think of all the long file names..
