The lack of action in this forum doesn't reflect on SCGT online racing. There is always something going on at Yahoop for SCGT. New cars, new tracks, new leagues and revamping of old leagues. If you have this game check out the Demolition Crews S.N.R. link below for some great sim racing.

Yes, SCGT remains really active which is amazing, being such an old game now without a central server for online....that's because of the community editing and the car physics.
There are over 85,000 posts at Speedsims! And a whole lot more at High Gear.
Its great fun, give it a try!

Leave it to Spede to spede things up.

I don't post as much any more. Gittin' old'n'tired. But hopefully not old'n'slow. <g>

Got my new 1800 XP installed and I'm back online. Haven't been able to practice for a couple-three days, so you'll have a good shot at me Lance. If I can keep up with you, that is. I haven't hit a 42/43 yet.

Hey guys where can I find setups for the cars, mine suit me just fine and I believe are pretty good, I'd just like to compare them, thanks again DCs, whats 42 43??

hehe..42/43 was the time in seconds for a lap I was hoping for at Lime Rock. I never did get a 42 but I did get a 43.00 flat.

I don't know of a set-up page but over at SNR you'll find that Doug,Mac and myself share set-up and testing info regularily based on the track that we are running in the upcoming races.

SNR is an SCGT club that we started over a year ago. There is a scheduled race every friday and saturday evening at 6:00 PST. Friday is Vintage class and saturday is the GTQ cars from the original game. Neither class is very fast but they both make for close fun racing.

It's impossable to race online without adding some extra's to the game. It is well worth the effort though. Have a good look at SNR, you'll find most of what you need and all they help to go with it.

'BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER', get the installation guide, uninstall SCGT, and start over. Start a new download file with subfolders for cars, tracks and patches. My own scgt DL folder actually has 8 subfolders and they get used alot. There is about 150 tracks and over 400 available cars for this game, as well as a couple dozen executables that allow you to add several diff classes of vehicles without overwriting the original game files.

Doug and I will happily share our setups.

In my case, I'll give you more than you bargained for. Ideas, opinions, concepts and sometimes even a fact or two. <g>

Seriously, when I share my setup, I try to include my current thinking and what change makes what difference as well as why. Since driving styles may vary widely, my setup may not work for you. You have to be able to change it to suit your preferences and driving style. It will take a while to get a feel for doing setups. I've been doing it for almost a year.

I have tried Doug's (DC_Racecar) setup, and I usually cannot drive it. He can drive mine though. He's just that good.
