Earlier today, MATT posted this on the NFSCheats newspage. (http://www.nfscheats.com/) According to Motorcity Online's Goughakka, NFS: HP2's Physics will be based on those of MCO, with many modifications. There will be an easy 'arcade' mode, and as Goughakka himself put it: "The harder mode is more of a simulation drive, where if you make mistakes, you pay for them."
Sounds promising if you ask me. -^

It does... I don't know if I feel like staying around and seeing it though. I'm tired of getting burned by EA everytime they release a 'new' version of series.

I agree with DPK.. If EA doesn't make a new NFS that is editable, fully, I'll leave.. NFS editing is boring, now.

Now that's telling it like it is, chris. Now, have you told EA?

Depending on whether NFS6 is editable, It's going to either kill the NFS Community or bring it back cause I don't think I'd want to play or build cars for NFS4 after NFS6 comes out.

Some people just can't enjoy a game the way it was meant to be enjoyed...

Matt, we've enjoyed the game for 2 years. It starts to get boring after a while.

MCO physics huh? That's not particulary impressive, at least not as far as sims go. I can make a car in NFSHS where you pay for your mistakes. ;) Just set the understeer gradient to about 1.5, and boy, you'll pay for those mistakes all right. ^_^

I'm probably not going to buy NFS6 until it becomes editable anyway. I doubt EA will make it editable for us, it'll probably be like every other NFS game where we had to figure it out ourselves. Even if it does become editable, i'll probably stick to Racer, by then they will be several street tracks out.

It's going to take alot for EA to win me back....

EA never did anything to help us with editing in the past? Who says? There was a car editor on the retail Need for Speed III CD!

We had to figure out how to extract the .fce from the .viv ourselves, and at the end of the day, CarTool was nearly worthless, it could hardly be called a car editor, it had almost no more capability than FCEFinish. And I used it to "make" several cars, so I should know.

Then we had to figure out the .fce file format ourselves to make CarCad and ZModeler. Even the first crude versions of CarCad were a vast leap foward over CarTool, they allowed editing in a 2d view where you could actually make a somewhat accurate shape, unlike the 3d only editing of CarTool. The only thing CarTool had that was usefull was the normals editor, which was only usefull because for a while there was no other alternative.

And that was four years ago, when EA still had some sense of the fans. Aside from a few guys like EACaddy, that apparantly no longer exists at EA. EA never gave us the information we needed to make cars for NFS.
